Brayden has turned into a fabulous footballer. I love his ability to contest. He resets every time the ball comes down. He bleeds black and white. _________________ Living in Geelong, barracking for the 'pies! |

Yes, Maynard had a shocker against the GWS with Greene clearly outpointing him a few times and that pathetic effort of a brain fade disposal that cost Collingwood a goal. I don’t think Maynard is the first or will be the last defender to get beaten by Toby Greene, but Maynard does have the uncanny ability to undo a lot of his good work with really bad stuff ups. Perhaps he looses his composure when he gets tired? Playing To y Greene is tough as, like Dusty Martin he does play high forward for a while to loose his tag before finding the ball deep forward to be so dangerous. Perhaps that’s what stretched Maynard in this latest game. If so it shows where he needs to improve to allow him the opportunity to play more of a midfield role which may open the door for Issac Quaynor to break into the team as that mild range defensive role? However, hard to imagine how to fit all of Wills, Sier, DeGoey and Maynard into midfield running roles. It would provide a tough group of midfielders for any opposition to deal with and something to consider for the next time we play GES since they regularly win clearances against Collingwood despite Grundy dominance at the hit out. _________________ Collingwood Domination.
