Agree with varcoe i think he is finished as a player anyway. Also ive been questioning Crisp too hes definately out of form he just can not mark, kick or do anything. But i know he can do alot better.

I think Liam Shiels' ribs think Varcs did plenty last week. Smile

Varcs didn't have the best game in his return against Essendon, but I thought he was great against the Hawks. He set up well and was often the link for our clearances around the ground. He used the ball really well, which was great to see after a few mistakes in his first game back. You can put that down to having spent so long on the sidelines.
He definitely plays this week. We need his hardness against his old team.

No way will Varcoe be dropped unless for fitness, he was terrific against the Hawks.

Re: ribs, who was it who bruised Dusty's ribs when we played them earlier? He missed a game because of it.

....funny....

so a 115 to 138 goal a year is a pass mark

No. Just 115 to 138 marks a year.

Ahh - sorry mixed with the slang - I thought you 'gloved' a mark and 'clunked' a goal but your right you can clunk a mark I expect.

re Varcoe - I thought he executed a couple of surgical kicks directing the ball into the corridor last week. He's getting better every week, hope it lasts.

I can't see too many changes other than what is necessary i.e. Kelly out to be replaced by De Goey.
Daicos may be another in contention - depending on his ankle - and if he was declared fit he is an automatic inclusion. C. Brown would be the man to go out to accommodate that.
I was impressed by both IQ and Atu's games last week but FFS If I hear that either of them are walk up starts and best 22 players from here on in, I'll spew. "One swallow does not a summer maketh". It follows then that one good game does not make you an automatic best 22 player. If these kids feel any external pressure from talk like that (and I'm sure Bucks would not allow that) then they are destined to fail. Don't get me wrong, I want them to do well but everyone needs to cool their jets before declaring a first-gamer a automatic best 22 player!

It would do well to remember that nothing is as bad, or as good, as it seems.

Mason won’t be dropped due him dropping marks as part of the game plan to allow our small forwards ground balls to grab and convert 😎 At least one should be unmanned as Mason usually has two or three opposition boogies hanging off him. The other forwards need to lift in their crumbing efforts. If they do this well, Mason is safe to go for marks and it becomes a bonus if he actually holds one😄 It should be a win = win situation.

I agree. We now have Jaidyn Stephenson, Atu B, Josh Daicos, Billie and JDG as dangerous small forwards. To stop Cox from marking, they need to deploy an extra defender at all times. This must leave someone of the above free. Cox does not need to mark, he just needs to create a contest and bring the ball to ground. Also, there were a few frees paid against defenders blatantly holding Cox's arms on the weekend, so I think defenders will have to think twice about doing that. Also, they will have to be careful about trying to push him out of position, as a couple of those were penalised as well.

YOU TWO blokes make far, far too much commonsense. Laughing

Very Happy absolutely I don't mind the big Cox playing in the Wet!

Far too much sense

It will not sell papers

I agree Degoey for Kelly
Daic's if fit for Brown

and if Shaz is not fit I would really like for Murphy to come in.

I find it interesting who is in the training photo's and how the scratch match is now reported (given we had nothing except for the channel 9 chopper v Ninthmond).

I also find it interesting when people call for Reid (3/4 of a scratch match 2 weeks ago) Dunn has played 2 out of the last 3 scratch matches (he was rubbed out for 1 match for catching an Uber with Sidey)

Is not rolled gold form to be called up.
