No Sier - not even emergency??? We don't have the grunt to match top teams, Adams needs support - too many lightweights. _________________ It's a simple game. |

I have just researched the heights of Geelong's forwards, and I understand the reasoning behind the non-replacement of Schazz with a tall defender. Geelong's only height in the forward line lies with Hawkins and Ratugolea.

i am happy to have Cox in the forward line. He doesn't have to mark: he is there to threaten to mark, to deflect the ball to ground level, and to distract more than one Geelong defender |
Thanks for researching this MTTM and clearing up what I originally thought was an odd selection, that is, only going in with two tall defenders.
I'm so disappointed that Shazz has to miss with injury again and one that happened in the last minute or so of last week's game. He has such rotten bad luck.
I agree with you on Mason's selection as well. The important wording you used was that he attracts "more than one" defender and that in itself creates opportunities for us. |

^ Mason is a decoy, huge decoy, he must be minded by two guys, so that leaves em one short to watch our forwards, and if he does grab one, hes a very good kick for goal, around forty metres. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

One aspect from the Dorks game I liked from a coaching decision was to run Billy in the grunt & clearance part of the game——this has been a part we have to improve
If this is persured then JDG and he can rotate between there and deep forward _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Is it that you’re not happy with DeGoey and one of our more consistent mid fielders coming in or is it more the two talls who are out, while It’s expected to rain all night ? |

I'm somewhat confused by the drop Cox sentiment expressed here. Drop him for who (that would at least be his equal - or better)?
Cox straightens us up going forward (Bucks' words). He draws at least 2 defenders for every aerial contest and if not 'clunking' it, provides some predictability to the crumbers for the ball drop. His presence as a chop out kick down the line from defence can also not be underestimated. I noticed when he has been out (including the games Cameron played) we were sadly lacking in this area. And, he makes the opposition long set shot goal kicking require an addition 5 meters on their kicks.
His influence can not be measured statistically, and while his form has been below par, his influence on that game would still be viewed internally as being greater than a potential replacement. |
