Felt like Bucks was making a statement, no cute throwing the ball in the air before kicking goals this week, sunshine.

For whatever reason, it seems to have worked. Even getting Elliot up the ground forced them to go and get the ball instead of waiting for it to be delivered to them.

During our two losses, most of our forwards have been very, very lazy.

He was an elite mid as a kid. Possibly just of a reminder of where his future is headed.

I reckon Bucks might be playing around with field positions to see if certain players are better suited somewhere else. Darcy Moore has fitted in pretty well in the backline and i think Jamie Elliott thrived in the midfield last night. Jaidyn is very fast on his feet and good in the air and has alot of footy smarts .That might be the key to running the ball out of the backline . Stick Sier at that end of the ground with maynard , crisp ,moore , roughhead , noble , langdon and sidey and we would have the best backline in the league. I was impressed with varcoe last night , too. He works hard and contributes well to the cause. De Goey needs to be in the centre . He is better off there instead of trying to be fancy around the goals and missing too many . We have enough good staff to kick goals already. Just my opinion.

I'm interested in those comments, BB, about De Goey in the middle. I often think it makes a lot of sense but unsure if he's got the tank for it. What do others think?

The other thing is Sier. I keep seeing him talked about as 'the answer' but he keeps not getting picked. What's the go with that? Thoughts anyone?

Well, would you play Wills and Sier in the same side? If not, they're competing with each other.

Stevo definitely played Noble’s role, and it was expected he’d add more pace and kicking accuracy. Still think there was a bit of “you’re gonna have to work harder to kick a goal this week” kick up the bum too.

I thought IQ played Noble's role.

Yes, Q was playing Noble’s role, just with better ball-handling, kicking, hand balling, marking and strength. Stevo was given Sidebottom’s role helping out the defence. Part of the reason we struggled against Essendon is that we had Treloar helping out down back - he’s actually not very useful, defensively, in traffic. The heat map this week had Treloar playing predominantly in the front half. He’s dangerous at both ends of the ground, so we may as well play him at the end where he’s dangerous to the opposition, rather than to us.

You could put Wills in the same side , for sure. The good thing is we have a bit of depth in playing personnel which just needs to be tweeked to get the key positions right. Better to have too many good players than not enough due to injuries or poor form.

He seemed pretty pissed off just before halftime. Thought it was the Hawthorn players getting to him but maybe it was because he was in the backline. Mad
