I can remember him in 8 ...and I reckon he also wore a number in the 30's as well. |

Des carried number 30 early in his career. I think he went to 1 when he took over the captaincy. He wore 8 for a while as well. I was under the impression that he got 8 when he returned from the Bumblers. _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |

Onya Canberra. That's close enough. As you said he began his career with no. 30 (62-65), then wore no. 1 as captain (66-69), moved to no.8 when he relinquished the captaincy (70-71), then wore no.1 again in 76 when he returned from essendon, and also wore no.3 in 77.
Therefore, the answer is 30, 1, 8 and 3. _________________ CARN THE PIES |

Ah.... someone got it!. C'mon Canberra, a question that people younger than 50 would be able to answer.. _________________ Nelly the cow is a beautiful cow

OK. An easy one. Give us the highest number ever worn by a player in a AFL/VFL game. Add the player and the club he played for. _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |

Not sure if other clubs had senior players with numbers higher than 60.
In 1987-1990 I think Collingwood had Terry Keays at least initially wearing number 60. I'm more confident that in 1991 Collingwood had Stephen Anderson wearing number 60. I remember he played in the drawn game against St. Kilda in round 4 at Moorabbin. _________________ I am the future |

Good get Mr P but my AFL/VFL career resides in my imagination. By the way the number is even higher than mine. _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |
