Right on.
I suspect we will have to beat Port to avoid the trip to WA, as I expect both the saints and Dogs to win next week. Fwiw, I reckon we will do just that and finish 6th. |
Think that Port will be keen to win against us. Lose and they will most likely end up with a qualifying final against Richmond.
Our best hope To avoid a Perth elimination final is for GWS to beat St.Kilda. |

| Great inclusions but stevo out again is a worry. We just have to win and win well to kill the contest. Can't afford a hard slog or shootout. Just get it done and done quickly Pies. |

I don't think we'll verse the Eagles because I don't think we're finishing 8th if we win tonight. Saints or Bulldogs would be ideal. Both our biggest wins came off those teams.

We can only play the Bulldogs if they beat Freo and GWS beat St Kilda, I think. If either result goes the other way then we’re probably up against either Melbourne/St Kilda or West Coast, respectively (and St Kilda if both results are reversed).

If we win tonight and don’t beat Port, only a Freo win over WB or a GWS win over StK will keep us out of 8th spot.
The beauty of the final round is that every game up until ours vs Port is live in play, meaning no dead rubbers until our game. Provides us with the knowledge of what’s required vs Port. If a win keeps us in the 6-7 spot, we mass rest players. If only a win gets us out of a showdown with WCE in Perth, then we play to win.
Let’s just make sure we don’t do the usual Collingwood thing, and actually WIN tonight.

Too right, as i said in the other thread, if we cannot beat these buggers, we sure as heck dont DESERVE to play Finals, period. Just get this done, clinically and with cold precision, tear these GC Beachboys a new one, no mercy, no quarter asked,none given. Just do it. !

Disappointed that we've once again turned to Varcoe.
Rather go with the future with one of Murphy, Ruscoe, Bianco or Rantall instead.

As long as Varcoe stays forward as a crumb or runner, I don't have a problem. Playing him up the ground is the problem.
