Post subject: The Three Faces of NIcks Game day discussion. | |
|
AS i dont have Foxtel, or the other Apps, and i hate the radio footy stuff, i follow the "commentary" here, Gameday thread, and ive noticed theres three disctinct types on here. First, theres the Negative Nellies, we get 2-3 goals down, early in the game, and its all, " we are hopeless, sack Bucks, sack Eddie, sack the Board, sack the Reserves coaches, sack player so and so, hes hopeless, hes useless, blah blah. Funny, as the game goes on, and we hit the front, they forget most of their remarks, and try to jump back on the bandwagon. Real pea hearts, this lot, and they know who they are. ! Second lot is the Super Optimists, no matter how far down we are, they say we have a chance, we can win this, Pre game, no matter who it is, they say we have got this, i love their optimism, misplaced somewhat at times though. The third lot is, well, me and others, the mid way fans, try to be as hopeful and positive as we can, for as long as we can, we do concede defeat only when all hope is gone, and we celebrate victory, no matter how bad the game, or Opposition. As the Finals approach, no doubt these three types of Ncksters will be out in force, again, for better, or worse, some driven here by this unusual covid 19 Virus season.

Hey Piesnchess, depending on the scores, I can be all three at various times during a game🤓😝😎
What I have stopped doing is make a prediction of us winning by a certain margin, mainly because I have been horribly wrong on most occasions. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. A pessimist is simply a well-informed optimist.

I just call it as I see it. There have been times I have been proud even when we lose but also times when I haven’t been impressed even when we win. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

I like your thinking Leggie; between you and me where do I score the stuff you’re smoking 😉 _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

The drinking game where you skulled a glass of beer each time Collingwood scored a goal used to be fun until this season where you’d be lucky to have 6 glasses during a game😄😏😎 _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Game day is where you can go over the top.
Very much like me at the game.
One minute the ump is a maggot and next we are lucky that he missed an obvious free kick to the opposition.
One minute you would trade a player for a grandmother and next he is a hero.
Game day is for emotion so don't read to much into peoples rants... including mine. |

I remember back to when Chris Mayne was the whipping boy of the season until he played a blinder and turned the corner to be forever known from that point on as Mayney. Happened in the space of a game. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |
