Midfield and on ballers smashed. Grundy focussed on himself not the team for too many crucial times in the match.
Overused the ball by too many handballs tonight.
While I’m not looking forward to it there’s always next week (if not the week after). _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

My thoughts exactly. To which I’ll add their hand passes generally hit the target whereas ours just seemed to be often just a half a metre off. |
Yep, also we did all the hard work..then that last kick into the forward line just undid all the work.
But well done to the boys, they could hve dropped thier heads, and lost by 5 goals..but they kept the effort so i thibk that was full credit too them. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Off to the gallows for us, get that death mask ready.
Take those Ned Kelly boots off Stevo.

How Harvey has kept his job is just mind boggling.
Longmuirs impact in two seasons is a million times greater than Harvey’s in 9 years. _________________ - Side By Side - |

Yes the Treloar Adams and Beams trades were a negative for us.
in fact probably an big negative.
Look at IQ and Noble
Very little loss a big gain. |

Very much doubt that's the actual game plan. Port forced us into ball handling errors and capitalized on our fumbles brilliantly. |

Cox played well honestly, gave it more of a crack in 1 quarter than Grundy in one night. Took marks and brought the ball to ground... did his job well. Noble again another great effort, some run that we lacked so badly. _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

It's because we thought we were well ahead of ourselves both times. We're like a junkie looking for a quick fix.
Watch us throw the kitchen sink at Jeremy Cameron. |
No one ever wants to come to Collingwood. Jezza Cameron is off to Geelong and Zach Williams is leaving for Carlton. I repeat no one ever wants to come to Collingwood unless they are mediocre looking for big money. |

Can’t fault the endeavour, it was the execution that cost us, when we had our chances. Missed passes into the forward line, starting with Thomas missing Stevo in the first. Numerous other chances where we missed passes.
Getting smashed 11-0 in centre clearances in the second half put us on the back foot.
Also felt both JDG and Treloar suffered second week back blues. |

Disappointing not to be able to win. Not much in it. I think our disposal quality was overall inferior, enough to make a difference.
We need another strong midfielder in there to help out... the poor centre clearance ratio is related to the lack of inside mid pressure on the ball. If you look at any one clearance, it seems just fortune that it bounces the way of the opposition, but overall it is due to our lack of ability to apply enough pressure in that central clearance.
I think that the handling of Stepho has been really terrible. He is very light framed and young. He should not be there specifically to pressure. And he should not be asked to drive deep into contests as a premium. He is there to use lightning pace and reflexes to kick goals. The way our coaching and selecting staff are treating him is dismaying me. It has resulted in his total loss of confidence in his own ability.
We need to find a way to move the ball fast and through the corridor, even when the opposition floods our back line.
IQ was brilliant. What a talent he is.
Noble made a few mistakes today, but also has the ability to combine with IQ to bounce the ball brilliantly forward.
Our main issue is to find a way to answer opposition congestion with aggressive ball movement. we should look at Richmond's games to find a hint, and quickly. We only have 2 weeks. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

I can't even blame JDG, ball went no where near him while the commentators crucified him. When he had the ball, used it well. _________________ Smoking shadows behind the mirrors - Travis Cloke |

Another pathetic score. 45. Really? We have the 6th WORST attack this season. No team in the history of AFL has ever won anything with a bottom 6 stat in anything, let alone scoring. Embarrassing, yet we’re expected to tune in week in week out with promises of a ‘premiership contender’??? To watch 1-2 goals a quarter??? F off. _________________ Est. 2002

We have lacked aggressive big bodied midfielders for several years. Wills is a journeyman and Sier is rarely fit. We aint got anyone else.
I'm disappointed that De Goey wasn't thrown into the centre, but I guess Bucks was hoping he'd snag a couple of goals for us. Jeez, Stevo looks like he's having a mental breakdown. He's got the world on his shoulders and has lost all confidence.
Hopefully we get Sier back for the Eagles game. |
