Post subject: Sidebottom for Prelim final? | |
|
Is asking too much to get Steel up to Queensland to start his isolation now for a good chance of playing in a Prelim against Brisbane in two weeks?
Probably should have flown up yesterday I guess. Yes, it will be a tough isolation, but will be handy inclusion. |

My understanding is he missed the window to get into QLD with the other returning players (Ablett, Shane Edwards etc). Which now means he would have to fly on a general flight and wait 2 weeks quarantining in a hotel before being able to go into the bubble. There is only 13 days between now and a possible Prelim too.. _________________ ------------

Short answer NO
He won’t be able even if he wanted too
13 days between now and prelim and he would need 14 days from date of arrival
Best he could do is 15 days
But from the backflip from he’s coming when baby was born to not coming in the matter of hours I would hazard a guess it was his decision not to return to hub |

Well yes and true that is. More importantly does he deserve to when 22 players last night played their hearts out to help us maybe make the Grannie _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

It was pretty disappointing, and now it’s even more disappointing. We are finally close to full strength - but for Sidey. It’s a surprising decision to make to be honest. Not invested enough in the club, which is fine if that’s where his head is at. But to win flags we need a playing group completely invested. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

absolutely not!
not one player last night should lose their spot. the only player i would consider as an automatic in is a fit Howe, and thats not happening sadly. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

All 22 players from last night were totally hardcore.
Barring a soft tissue injury during the week, they ALL retain their places. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

The anxiety rivals 2019PF, and that other game in 2018, which we shan't mention.... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Look at Geelong. They messed with their chemistry and it is costing them momentum.
Bringing Sidey back now could do the same.
The decision to stay home has already been made anyway. Would his mind and body be in shape to jump straight into a final? And after having to isolate too? I doubt it.
Get him ready for 2021. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I don’t know if we don’t really need him.You can’t have enough quality players in your side in my opinion.Maybe he could quarantine in Darwin for two weeks, and then go to Qld if we make the Grand Final? It seems unlikely though, because I don’t think his heart is really in it. |

I'd have no qualms if either or both the Brown boys came in, with Thomas and Quaynor the two who would be most discussed. 48 hours and a long flight is a hell of a freshness advantage.
Sidey accepted unders and has had a hellish year. He deserves the time. |
