We have the oldest list in the comp and no obvious replacements yet for Pendles, Howe, Sidey, Roughead, Treloar.

Could be dark times ahead.

The Cats have the oldest list, i heard it on SEN last week. Confused

There was so much going wrong in that horrible game I wouldn't isolate one player. Marking wasn't contested, balls weren't won, transition was slow.
That game was the perfect example of 'you learn from your losses' We beat the cats early in the year and people were overconfident. The Cats learnt from the previous encounter and spanked us because of that.
Noble will be good for us, his run and kicking will be a good weapon in years to come. He and IQ could become great mainstays.
I know where your coming from - my wife said the same thing.

Yep that’s why I said his teammates in the back should have woken up to it. They kept getting sucked in and led away. Noble the poor bastard kept having to go to bigger players. Several times the back men looked at each other with, “I thought you were on him?” looks on their faces. Our leadership down back really fell apart.

Maynard played his worst ever game. The back line play together as a team and if one or two are down as Maynard and Noble were, the rest cave in. Noble is a beginner so you can't blame him. Practically the entire team played badly so I don't see how you can blame individual players, especially relatively new players like Noble.

Sorry, but the opening post lost me at the first line, rating Adams as "good season tries hard every game". FFS, he was an All Australian, and will be our next captain. Rolling Eyes

Probably yes to both - but he’s actually a very, very averagely skilled footballer. He’s a huge part of our midfield problem, not the solution.

Good season = true
Tries hard = true
Disposal often poor = true

Not a truer word has been written about Adams.

Sounds very much like our last premiership captain.

I'm not sure I entirely agree that Adams ball use is poor. I think when he kicks laterally e.g. the kicks into corridor that are often chopped off leading to goals, it's poor, but when he kicks forward, he pretty bloody good.

Bucks and the others just need to tell him to stop kicking laterally!

Pendles disposal is poor?

I think he meant Captain Nick.

A few problems with our midfield
1. We haven't got a player like the bont, Martin, Fyfe, Danger etc..
These players can go into the centre or a stoppage and change the game.
Peddles isn't one of those players.
2. We lack a midfielder who can kick the ball 60m like Bux could.
This means you can kick it over the heads of the defensive wall.
3. Our mids don't run straight. Elliot is the best example ....He always runs in an arc and as a consequence more often or not kicks it wide.
4. There is no connection between Grundy and the rest of the mids.
That has been obvious for years
5. We lack pace in the midfield ...Adams is slow, Treloar has got slower due to his bad hammers and frankly there is no one with pace.
6. We lack an inside bull midfielder....We have 2 on the list.
Wills is 26 and is definitely not good enough.
And Sier is 22 back he wasn't welcome in the finals.
We preferred Mayne....Got along way there.
So people if we want to improve next year...concentrate on fixing the midfield

Just for stamps I like Tay Adams but his disposal efficiency for the year is a little over 63% and he averages 3.4 clangers per game

It beggers belief that we gave away four first round picks for Treloar and Beams and have Grundy signed for 7 on big money. List manager is a complete imbecile and has to go.
