I don't much care - it's just the principle. In theory, if eg 5 people all happened to get the same number of votes in a round, they'd take 25 votes from a game for which 5 votes should be awarded, that's all.

It’s interesting – if we applied halves, Taylor Adams would right now be fourth instead of equal third, and John Noble would have a whole less point. Let’s just hope this doesn’t end up deciding any of the final positions *gulp*

Round 11 vs Adelaide

5. Taylor Adams
4. Jack Crisp
3. Brayden Maynard
2. Darcy Cameron / John Noble (not again!!!!)

Leaderboard

Taylor Adams 21
Brayden Maynard 19
Brodie Grundy 18
Scott Pendlebury 18
Jeremy Howe 14
Darcy Moore 13
Josh Daicos 10
Steele Sidebottom 10
Jack Crisp 9
John Noble 8
Isaac Quaynor 7
Adam Treloar 7
Jordan De Goey 5
Brody Mihocek 4
Darcy Cameron 2
Chris Mayne 1
Rupert Wills 1

We have a new leader in Adams, with Maynard not far behind, and Grundy and Pendlebury still well and truly in it (though the captain hasn’t polled in a while). A decent gap has opened up between those four and the next few contenders, with Howe still remarkably sitting in fifth despite having only played the first four matches.

^ The Captain hasn't polled in a while because he didn't play between round 7 (when he did poll) and round 12.

And, right on cue, there's the Captain with votes in his first game back!

Ok, I think we’d better pick this up tomorrow night, lol – obviously everyone’s off to bed, and I should be too! But looks like a fascinating count. Adams is in the box seat, but it’s far from over (I have a feeling Maynard might make a late move).

Did some people just give Grundy 5 votes every time he stepped onto the field?

Thanks for doing this David. Much appreciated.

Wasn't Jeremy Howe flying at the start of the season!! That PCL really was a disaster for him , the team and the supporters. Sad

Interstingly, not one Brownlow vote for him across those 4 games. It sure is a mid-fielders medal!!

The difference is that the Brownlow votes only go the best 3 players on the ground. Looking at the coaches’ votes, he wasn’t clearly top 3 in any of the first 4 games (though he was in the votes in 3 of those games). The game where he was arguably unlucky not to get a vote, the umpires gave 2 to Mihocek (the coaches gave Howe and Mihocek each 5).

You're welcome, PP. Smile

This is one thing I like about the GB Medal! It still has its oversights, of course – Roughead never gets a single vote despite playing an essential role in the team week after week – but defenders like Maynard, Moore, Howe and Noble are much more represented here than they are in most other awards. I think the 5-4-3-2-1 has helped spread the vote around a bit so that they don't all go to the usual suspects.

And here I was thinking John Noble's current vote count – the result of no fewer than three ties – would be the most controversial '8' in this thread. Wink
