Carlton will win a couple of Premierships before we do. And we’ll keep talking about Eddie’s position as President in his 30 years at the helm. And Buckley as coach. What a nightmare. Don’t think this couldn’t become reality. There needs to be a shift at Collingwood. And we need to stop crowing about making finals. Two Premierships in over 60 years for a club like Collingwood is disgraceful. Given how many GF we have played in.

Still can’t get over how a basket case like Richmond has won 3 in 4 years. That is truly embarrassing for Collingwood, a club at the same level from a fan perspective. Richmond isn’t anything special. Just a well drilled team with a couple of A class players.

BTW, Lynch and Cameron were mad Collingwood fans. Both had a choice to come to Collingwood. And there’s your answer.

Wish people would stop saying this. If Richmond aren't anything special, the other 17 teams must be dog shit bad then.

From a list perspective they’re not special. Extremely well drilled team.

Can’t wait for the Buckley apologists to come here and continue making excuses.

Lynch and Cameron were Collingwood supporters.

Two key forwards.

Two players who would be what we needed.

Two players who chose other clubs.

WHY?

Collingwood needs change.

Eddie should pass on the reigns.

Buckley has had enough chances.

Time for a change.

Some pretty good posts and what we've been saying for a number of years.

Richmond, no Rance, premiers 2019. Richmond, no Vlastuin after 5 mins, premiers 2020 and all we talk about is that free kick - forget that free kick, we were 5 goals up!!!

And as I've said before, if 'McGuire's Side or No Side' doesn't snag a premiership or two in the next 3-5 years (I guess we are expecting him to be around this long), history will not be kind to him.

Yeah, I get it - He has plenty of ticks and some notable crosses but he has 1 premiership in over 20 years as President and that's the main game AND that's a failure and if the word is a bit harsh then let's try 'Just Not Good Enough' for a great club we call Collingwood!!!

Enough is Enough, especially excuses.

Exactly why they are something special. A champion team will always beat a team of champions.

This is it exactly, I reckon if that injury had happened to say Roughhead or Moore, we would have crumbled like a cookie, and for years and decades to come, all we would hear about is 'Woulda won but for that early concussion!'

Ive always said it the Collingwood coach needs to be not from the club. Dimma played for Essendon and port and was assistant at Hawthorn no affiliation with Richmond wins the flag clarko the same

^^^^^

Suggest a few names of coaches who are available so that we can at least have an informed discussion.

Chris Fagan would have been a good choice before he went to the Lions.

He will deliver a flag to them in the next year or two.

They reckon Voss is ready for another crack at it too.

Steal Sam Mitchell from Hawthorn, or maybe show some vision and find the next good coach. That may have been Longmuir, it may be someone that is not a big name or an ex Collingwood Player?

Years ago, Brendan Gale publicly said something that at the time he was lambasted for and laughed at. That by the end of the 2010s, Richmond would have won three premierships and have a massive fan base. That was his line in the sand statement. And at the time, a lot of people thought he was nuts. But he had a plan, and most importantly, the guts to put that out there. And what does Collingwood get? After one of the most pathetic, disgraceful, gutless finals performances in history, we get Eddie McGuire saying “oh well, only one team can win every year and we’re like every other team that didn’t win the premiership.” That to me says it all about where the culture of Collingwood, which starts with McGuire, is right now. This crap about “oh well, we’re just happy to make finals and if we don’t win, then so be it.” It’s the ultimate statement of mediocrity. McGuire should have said that where this club is from a results aspect isn’t good enough, that this will get fixed, and that every year we should be contending for a premiership. Instead, we get some inane commentary that does nothing other than make me feel incredibly depressed as a fan, especially after watching Richmond last night prove just what true great leadership, top to bottom, is really all about.

I fear that while we’ve got Eddie and Nathan in charge that all we’ve got to look forward to as fans is a team that will be competitive, but never a serious threat to win a premiership. Ask yourselves - right now do we honestly believe that this club has the wherewithal or the culture to be a team that wins that final game on Grand Final day? To me, we’re years away. At least. And that is just sad.

Brendon Gale's aspiration:

By 2020, we aspire to have won our 13th Premiership; consistently provide the most exciting and powerful match-day experience in the competition; once again have the strongest support base in the nation, and enjoy the strongest emotional connection with our members and fans," a transcript of the presentation read.

The plan also included the club aiming to have zero debt by 2020, as they struggled being approximately $4 million in the red in 2010.

3 flags - tick
strongest supporter base - tick
zero debt - tick
