Contact tracing actually seeming to work well this time around, wonders never cease!

A new mystery case has been found in Victoria with contact tracers scrambling to find its origin. Health Minister Martin Foley confirmed the case had been active in the community for two days while infectious.

The Minister added the case was a worker at Moonee Valley racecourse testing clinic.

“They worked at least two days, whilst we do believe there is minimal risk to those at the site. However the site has been closed, all staff who worked the same shifts have been sent home to isolate,” he said.

The latest case comes after eight were recorded in the latest reporting period.

Victoria have made massive improvements on what was in place 12 months ago and a lot of that has been introduction of technology and vastly improved processes.

However, it's a lot easier to do contact tracing in a hard lockdown, people basically aren't going anywhere. Before we locked down, the contact tracers couldn't keep up, which was why we locked down.

Well NSW seems to be having the Same Problem at the Moment with Contact Tracing and they have not had yet a Real Hard Lockdown

Just because NSW is doing it differently to Victoria doesn't mean it isn't a hard lockdown, the main problem is people not following the rules and continuing to visit family.

Something like 80% of the transmission in NSW is in the home. They'd have the data on this but people catch it at home, spread it at work or shopping, rinse and repeat.

Because the virus is going from infection to infected in 36 hours, with large numbers of cases comes massive numbers of close contacts and shitpile of testing means delays in results.

Nice to see Dan offering advice from the cheap seats but declining to provide actual assistance in Contact tracing.

Then they should do what Victoria Did and have only 1 Extra Person(Outside of Carer's) allowed at a House and not just leave it up to People as lot real still have the Normal Amount Over.

Well NSW did not help Victoria Either when they Suppose to have the Gold Standard

Our state's team of specialist contact tracers will now work with Victoria to help contain its COVID-19 outbreak.

Also you are not allowed to have any visitors to their home unless for care and compassion, but certain communities just don't care.

In the UK, COVID deaths are still rising by more than 50% on the previous week (516 in the last 7 days, compared with 342 the previous week).

The 7-day moving average of deaths per day was 49 per day a week ago. It is now 74. That figure has doubled in the last 12 days.

I didn't get to post NSW's figures from yesterday. Here they are:

Quote:
NSW recorded 177 new locally acquired cases

Quote:
Forty-seven cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 22 cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Forty-six cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 62 cases remains under investigation.

So, at least 68 and up to 130 of the new cases were in the community for part or all of their infectious period. The numbers alone are of great concern. The difference between the two is even more concerning, since it reflects the fact that NSW cannot now say for certain what's going on in relation to about 1/3 of the new cases.
