Damn, people where talking about this all year but i didnt actually expect him to retire.
The injury must of been alot worse then external people knew. and was only 26. Its a damn shame.
I was looking forward to our elite backline next season...Howe in as well as Langdon!
sigh.

2013 was a bad luck draft
Nathan Freeman. Continual injuries
Matt Sharenberg. Same
Tom Langdon had some success till age 26
We also got another 2013 drafted player James Aish coming to us from Briz

No longer The Future Captain. A great pity. He was a wonderful player.

I was really surprised to read that he hadn’t played 100 games. Feels like he’s been around for ages and wouldn’t have missed too many games prior to this injury. |

Yeah, it is sad TP.
He tried so hard to get back and overcome the dodgy knee. Such a shame, as he really looked like he was hitting the best years of his footy career in 2018. Geez, it can be a cruel game.
I hope he can go forward in his life with pride at having firstly made it as an AFL footballer and then secondly giving it everything he could to come back. |

Sad news. Would have loved to have seen him in black and white again. All the best to him for the future. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Hine's drafting nous that killed the 2018 Premiership before we even dared to dream it.
Sorry to see Langdon go; don't we have a spot on the LTI list to account for these sort of medical problems, before we go retiring players we need?! _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

This has been on the cards for some time so no real surprise
I hate seeing any player forced from the game with injury and I hope it doesn’t impact his life going forward
If I was a mean person I would make comment to my ole mate P4S but really it isn’t appropriate
Good luck and best wishes on your future Tom |

During my time following the Pies I can't think of many other players who have been as influential within our senior 22 during their first AFL season.
Francis, Russell and Stephenson are the others off the top of my head I would put in the same category as Langdon.
If that season was our first glimpse of what he could become his brilliant 2018 final series is a sad reminder of what could have been.
Thanks Tom.
All the best for your future endeavours. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
