I am stunned at this statement.

Anyway , why can’t the Club keep these things under wraps? Keep a bloody lid on stories like this.!Surely these are private matters that have nothing to do with the General public . The Club should automatically put out a denial and condemn the media for spreading these stories. This is sensitive information that the Club should say is ‘fake news’ and blame the media. At least out of respect to the decent couple involved who deserve respect and privacy . We should use a smokescreen counter attack and warn the media that we will name names over a big scandal if they keep undermining our Club. Even if there is no scandal , just gets the hounds off the scent . We must circle the wagons and support our Coach . Can’t have these matters undermining our 2021 Premiership .

It’s Slobbo and the Herald-Sun, Hiss. Asking for respect and privacy is like asking a dog not to roll in cow shit.

Best of luck to them both in navigating divorce in the public gaze.

Absolutely! It's a really tough time for them all and it would be hoped that the two adults act maturely enough make it as easy as possible for the boys.
Bucks has always seemed to be the doting father to me and it seems awfully sad that he will probably be unable to spend as much time with them now as he would want. Still, with the right parenting, kids can be amazingly resilient and Bucks has shown that he has plenty of that character trait too, so hopefully everyone involved will successfully adapt.

Well this article isn't by Slobbo.

Quote:
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley and wife Tania have separated.

The high-profile AFL couple, who have been married for 18 years, are working together amicably to focus on co-parenting their two young boys Ayce, 12, and Jett, 14.

Both Nathan and Tania Buckley released a joint statement to Page 13 on Friday saying they had mutually decided to separate in January.

“It has been a tough and challenging year for every family and for ours included,” the statement said.

“It is with the utmost love and respect for each other and a true commitment to our sons, that we have made a decision to separate in January.

The Buckleys said they were focusing on co-parenting their boys and asked for privacy as they moved forward.

“We remain dedicated parents and in the interests of our boys, we ask for our family to be given the privacy that is needed.”

“We thank everyone in advance for understanding our request and for the unconditional love and support we have received throughout our marriage.”

This mutual support was evident when Tania Buckley last week posted a picture of the family dining out together at famed French bistro France-Soir on Toorak Rd to celebrate her 48th birthday, saying “it couldn’t get any better”.

“Bucks” is one of the most celebrated players to grace the game, mostly with Collingwood, winning the Brownlow Medal and club’s best and fairest six times and named in Collingwood’s Team of the Century.

A premiership still eludes the former Pies skipper turned coach who has been staying at a South Yarra apartment owned by good friend Paul Roberts, a sports executive at agency TLA.

The pad has served many heartbroken AFL types.

Geelong great Billy Brownless reportedly stayed there when his marriage with former wife Nicky Brownless was on the rocks. It’s understood James Brayshaw also spent some time living there when he was dealing with the breakdown of his marriage.

The couple married to much fanfare on New Year’s Eve in 2002.

So they've been separated for nearly 12 months, everything seems amicable whatever the reasons for it, no need to gossip.

Bit presumptuous to conclude that this is a miserable situation.

Sad. Hope their relationship matches the public statements for both their sakes and their children.

What did Slobbo's article say?

Same shit he always says. Typical H-S to put this front page.

It’s really none of our business, and it’s been on the cards for a while. Tanya’s rumoured affair with a cricketer, open marriage after that. Bucks’ big post-season break from the club and their trip to Italy to work it out, deciding to wait until the kids were a bit older and they could handle it better. It’s an amicable decision. To go through all that while coaching and still be a measured, reasonable man with the media shit Collingwood gets says a lot about Bucks.

You seem to have quite a lot of info on this matter

They separated in January this year, most likely one of the reasons Tania and the boys did not go to the hub in Queensland.
