I suppose inciting an erection (according to Chuck Shumer) would be considered serious.

These things, even without conviction by the Senate, are important. They cast light on that which occurred and force the remaining neo-Nazis in the Republican Party to hoist their colours to the mast.

Very good point. It will be interesting to see if Cruz, Hawley et al have the gall to vote against impeachment. They probably will Rolling Eyes, but then hopefully, they will come under serious censure from more moderate Republicans.

The biggest grandstanding conman in American political history is a victim of... wait for it...political grandstanding! Someone call in the violins.

The normalising of this malignant psychopath knows no bounds. It would be amusing if he hadn't wrecked an economy, left a pile of bodies in his wake that would make Chairman Mao proud, purged and corrupted an entire government infrastructure, and tried to subvert an election. Unfortunately, he actually did do those things, and more.

The accounting of the Trump crime family's corruption and destruction, and that of their enablers, has barely begun.

At some point there needs to be consequences for wrecking the joint, and for supporting people who wreck the joint.

Great points there. With Trump and his supporters there’s never any accountability for his actions. It’s always distraction, distraction, distraction. It’s Nancy Pelosis’s fault,or the Democrats, never Trump’s.We’re seeing this attitude here.No accountability for his criminal actions, just attacks and snide put downs of the other side. These people are great at deflection, but that’s all it is.,just an attempt to take the heat off Trump.

Interesting hypothesis considering there aren't any actual Trump supporters posting on this board, anymore, unless you count David.

Fella known as Stui Magpie. Been carrying a torch for Trump these many months. Seizes every possible opportunity to defend Trump, minimise and explain away his faults, and claim that Trump's other supporters are somehow normal or sensible. His posting history here demonstrates that beyond all doubt.

Always the victims, they ran to the bosom of the like-minded as the other shoe was dropping, fleeing the consequences of their reckless fist waving. Ever skirting responsibility, ever piling up grievances, ever stoking rage and vengeance.

The psychiatric urges to hold weaker groups down, conjure imaginary enemies rather than deal with the actual problem in the mirror, and set oneself apart as especially deserving, can be strong ones. No wonder they were so taken in by the most twisted, vengeful and irresponsible father figure — I mean leader — imaginable, Donald Trump.

Nothing to argue with there.

Trump? A father figure? I don't think so. Not a father.

More like your wicked Uncle Ernie. You know, the one who big-notes himself at the family get-togethers, and borrows money from everyone, and does a bit of kiddie-fiddling when he thinks no-one is watching.

Correct. David wasn't. PTID wasn't. I wasn't. You weren't, though no-one could tell that just by looking. Possibly Wokko was.
