Was it because of the personnel?
Maybe. But if you have inferior personnel, why do you then move the ball
with the forward velocity of a snail? How will that give any chances whatsoever to your inferior personnel? |
I heard Bucks say there's been a problem with the connection between the mids and the forwards. Hopefully they've looked at our forward 50 entries from all angles and come up with the solutions. But it remains to be seen whether or not our personnel is capable of implementing said solutions. _________________ The beatings will continue until moral improves. |

Generally ball movement is determined by the level of pressure the opposition is or isn’t applying when they don’t have the ball.
All coaches set out to move the ball quickly ( unless you’re defending a lead or kicking into a strong wind )
More often than not, it’s the team who doesn’t have the ball that has the biggest say in the speed of any ball movement.
Obviously any inability to execute a basic skill won’t help quick ball movement either.
To often “ we “ focus on what Collingwood isn’t getting right, when the true tale of the tape is more about what the opposition is doing well. |

Our midfield may not have Treloar to contend with Round 1

That will completely ruin our game plan - we'll have to find another way of running the ball into our forward line out of the centre if Treloar isn't going to do it for us. |

B Maynard, Roughead, Howe
HB Crisp, Moore, Quaynor
M Pendles, Sidey, Daics
HF WHE, Mihocek, Kelly
F De Goey, Cox, Ruscoe
Foll Grundy, Adams, Elliott
Int Noble, Sier, T Brown, C Brown/Wilson/McCreery
Eme Madgen, Greenwood, Mayne, C. Brown/Thomas
C Brown is in best 22, but I would like to try Wilson or McCreery. _________________ "That was out-of-bounds" |

JDG is already back on deck and "looked a class above" in Friday's intraclub match. _________________ The beatings will continue until moral improves. |

Round 1 or best has some holes to fill and in any good year we find three new players. I believe the players below should be locks for round 1
Maynard Roughhead Howe
Crisp Moore IQ
Daicos Pendles Mystery (1)
Sidebottom Checkers Elliot
Kelly DeGoey Cox
Grundy Adams Mystery (2)
Greenwood, Noble Mystery (3) Mystery (4)
So in my humble view the Mystery 4 should be Sier, Murphy (but IQ goes to a wing) they both have size, then I have no idea I hope Keane (when fit) and T Brown
Regulars who are not above C Brown, T Brown, WHE, Madgen, Mayne, Thomas
Dunno's Cameron, Keane, Ruscoe, Tohill and Wilson
Big year or Sier, Rantall, Bianco, Murphy, Lynch
Newbies Chugg, Ginnivan, Henry, Macrae, McCreery, McInnes, McMahon, Poulter
We can start watching on Friday??? and I hope Sidey plays forward this year as he is a great crummer given he can read the play and ball _________________ Bucks you just reckon he can still cut it in the middle |

Surprisingly looks like Howe will be ready to go post playing the practice match and Adams also on track.
B: Quaynor - Roughead - Crisp
HB: Maynard- Moore - Howe
C: Daicos - Pendlebury - T. Brown
R: Grundy - Sier - Adams
HF: Ruscoe - Mihocek - Elliott
F: Sidebottom - Cox - JDG
INT: McCreery, Macrae, Murphy, Noble
EMG : Thomas, Greenwood, WHE, Mayne
If we're to get back to the 2009-11 period where we saw genuine competition for starting 22 spots, then the likes of those listed as Emergencies will find it hard to string a body of games together. Our prospects for a starting 22 needs to go beyond 25 players and closer to 30.
(Eskimo Joe) Sier, who knows? If he can't get it together above the shoulders by Round 6, and deliver the required output against top 8 sides, then we need to look at plan B for a Ruck Rover.
Whom that player looks like I'm not quite sure.
Otherwise we have a compounded problem as to a ready made replacement as Centre for Pendles. Enter Josh Kelly 2022?...
We've made 13 changes on the list from 2021, now take some risk with the starting position 22.
If not, we're unlikely to advance up the ladder or expect any real change in our fortunes this year or next. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)
