I think I remember Pendles breaking a bone in his leg late in his 2nd season and was flying.
Missed a week and played the next in a final which we lost ?
Incredible effort.
Rest up Pendles. Going to be a big summer.
I thought it was going to be a severely corked calf when it happened.
Wonder if it was near the same spot. |

He did it in 2009 final against saints and was named in Preliminary Final against Cats but didn't play _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Pendles talked of taking on coaching some time down the track
He can get some coaching experience while the leg heals _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

afl.com.au's take this week:
Quote: | Howe has been cleared to return more than three months since his last game after passing training with flying colours. Pendlebury will be in a moon boot for a month after sustaining a hairline fracture to his left fibula against the Power. Will Hoskin-Elliott (back), Will Kelly (quad), Chris Mayne (ankle) and Josh Thomas (concussion) have been wiped off the injury list, while Taylor Adams has been cleared of any damage to his eye stemming from an incident against the Power. McCreery is eyeing a return next week after building up his training loads. - Mitch Cleary

So after our VFL and AFL games;
Unofficially:
TBA:
Brayden Sier (ankle)
TEST/1 WEEK:
Beau McCreery (hamstring)
UP TO 2 WEEKS:
Josh Daicos (finger)
Ash Johnson (finger)
UP TO 3 WEEKS:
Aiden Begg (shoulder)
SEASON:
Tyler Brown (shoulder)
Darcy Moore (knee)
Callum Brown (shoulder)
Scott Pendlebury (leg)
Sier kicked the first goal in the VFL yesterday, but then sat out the rest of the game with an ankle injury. We'll know how long in a couple days, but there's talk that he wont return to the club next year. It's possible we wont see him play in Collingwood colours again.
It's possible that McCreery is tested to play during the week. It'd be nice to see him return for a few late games, even if it was VFL.
Amazing to think Johnson, Daicos and even Begg could return to play before seasons end. (I think all unlikely, but would like to see Ash and Begg get a run in the twos).
Unsure if Kelly was injured or not? He only had 4 disposals in the VFL, as did McMahon. I haven't seen them mentioned in any reports. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

It's not necessarily the number of players unavailable, it's the quality of players unavailable... take 2 of a clubs (any club) top 5 players out and it will hurt. Pendles and Moore are in that group... we've missed Adams for large chunks, and Howe is a very important player also... then you add in Elliot and you've got arguably our most important forward, back and mid all missing time.
Champion data to some good injury comparisons giving consideration to a players rating along with the number of games lost. Unfortunately, we feature quite high on the list year in year out... |

Exactly. Not too sure if there are figures for such things but I would say that Buckley had one of the worst records for constantly not having Collingwood’s best team available to him due to injuries to our quality players. Sad but true. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

afl.com.au's take this week:
Quote: | Daicos has been given the tick of approval to re-join main training and will be assessed over a possible return. Johnson could also play his first VFL game for the club, however Sier is expected to miss with a sprained ankle. Begg has the green light to resume contact training and will be eyeing a VFL debut in coming weeks. Beau McCreery has been cleared to return from a hamstring. - Mitch Cleary.

Now that the team has been named:
1 WEEK:
Brayden Sier (ankle)
UP TO 2 WEEKS:
Aiden Begg (shoulder)
SEASON:
Tyler Brown (shoulder)
Darcy Moore (knee)
Callum Brown (shoulder)
Scott Pendlebury (leg)
Ash Johnson was listed as a test, but with the VFL likely to be postponed again, they'll be no team announcement. But going from previous injury reports, he'll likely be available next week if he didnt pass his test this week.
Really hoping to see Begg and Johnson in the VFL before the season ends (if it isnt completely cancelled that is). _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
