Very sad end ... did a great job over the years.
Setting up the racism inquiry was fair enough but why on earth would you appoint 2 activists to run it ... the result was a forgone conclusion. |

Eddie has been there for two decades. If he and his board haven't left any structure in place to replace him, then that would indeed be an awful situation. I have a feeling we'll be okay.
While it's a pity that he's leaving in such inglorious circumstances, he's had an innings that most players and coaches could only dream of, and I feel he's doing the right thing in pulling the plug now.

Mate, nobody should be president for life. I appreciate what Eddie's done for the club, but the club is and must be bigger than one person. We'll see whether or not his successor is able to measure up; that's something that will mostly be down to the strength of the appointment process. I'd like to believe that our club is sufficiently competent to make a good choice.

I think that is a marvelous idea, certainly for the President...may have been worth trying several years ago.
Can't help but feel Eddie should have left after the 2011 GF, wouldn't have been so closely associated with Buckley's tenure, and would have gone out on a high |

Bloody disgrace. Takes the membership completely put of consideration. Make all press conferences so bland noone will listen. And yes ban Slobbo from the joint. There are others who can do the job, most of them better.

My thoughts exactly, i hope our next President brings in a media ban, for a long long time, no player interviews, nothing, tell them all to get stuffed, especially the trolls at the Hun and the Age, and shock jocks. Media boycott, hit em where it hurts.

| I'm disgusted, not that he's gone, but in the manner he's departed. As others have stated the mob have got their way. People aren't happy unless they can tear apart those people who succeed in high pressure jobs where most of the rest of us can only dream we can aspire to. Well the mob have got their way. Now that Eddie has gone they can look for other targets to bring down. |
