Collingwood and Geelong are set to broadcast a member exclusive live stream of Friday’s practice match at GHMBA Stadium.

The live stream will commence at 10.50am before an 11am bounce, which will be exclusive to members as a way of saying thank you for standing Side by Side with us this season.

It is not too late to sign up and still receive access to Friday’s stream. For more information about membership options, visit membership.collingwoodfc.com.au or tweet @PiesMembership.

A link will be sent to 2021 season members prior to the start of the match.

A tool to increase membership—not available to all fans

A very disappointing and disheartening decision by the club IMHO. I am simply not able to afford a membership every year, including this year 2021.
So am I being discriminated against for this, after 50 plus years of loyal support in every possible way available to me?
Honestly, this club has lost its way. Side by side has definitely been abandoned and it seems to be little more than just a corporate identity these days. I am totally over this hollow representation of a football club, which has handed me nothing but pain and angst in recent times.
If I didn't have such a depth of engagement with the actual players, (you know the ones that actually wear the black and white and do battle in the club's name), I'd be moving my allegiance elsewhere. I'll see what transpires regarding that allegiance.... whether it still there when the season starts, but this could just be the ultimate insult.

Seems like Geelong are doing the same, so this was probably an agreement between the clubs (and, as others have said, is clearly intended as part of a membership drive):

I don't like it not being open to all, but I also acknowledge that the club is not obliged to record and broadcast a practice match. They often haven't in the past and nobody complained, to my knowledge.

I can't remember many practice matches being streamed in full in the past.
Usually just relied on highlights & reports from the Pies or opposition club websites.

Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Carlton and Essendon are also doing live stream for members of their practice matches, so it looks like all clubs are using them as a membership driver.

I think this a great initiative given we have been starved of action,

I am sure it is not convenient for all

Although my last trip to Geelong I watched a very Young Frosty and Langers in Black n White for the first time and I think Jesse White kicked 4 in the last quarter but we got done by under a kick, I think it was Valentines day and the future Collingwood Ricciutto ripped his hamstring off the bone and he went the Aints three years later without playing for us

I would be pleased if at least some highlights on the Collingwood website were available to all

Also I see on Nine News that Darcy Moore could be elevated to leadership group

Cheers!! Would it be out of line for someone to share their screen via MS Teams or Zoom to watch the game for those who cannot purchase a membership? If someone is keen I am happy to do it.

Really bloody ordinary on the back of a COVID farked year for so many. Really shite form, Pies, there is so much work to do. Out of touch with the all important human connection with your fans and supporters.
