Again we’re ignoring the issues here. It’s not about which individuals played well. It’s a team sport played against an opposition team. We don’t have the right mix of personal on the field. Other teams cover more ground than us. Madgen is another of those slower players who maximizes their skill. For every Madgen we field we need speedy players around him. Do we drop IQ because he conceded 5 goals to Toby Green? Hardly. It’s all about getting the right mix of players and winning or losing tells you whether you get it right or wrong.

I actually watched Jack,s goal and it came off the back of Beau Mac tackle which forced GWS player to get pinged for deliberate

What is the thoughts on he with hs take no prisoners approach to the contest having a spell down with Beau

And to rephrase that Jack is learning game by game—he has come a long way from that May night at SCG in 2019 where Sam Reid cut him up with 4 goals

There are players who have to build a career & a few who are gifted

Blokes like Jack Crisp and Nick Maxwell became very good competitive players thru perseverance

Jack is I hope on his way to a good career

Went to the game, and it really hit me how backwards our list has gone since 2018. The lack of apparent depth is a real concern...

Surely this year needs to be a year where we find out the kids we drafted in the last 3 years have what it takes as the current 22 is not the answer.

Giants had some thing like 10 players who had played 1-20 games each or something? This was the game to put youth into the team, as surely the club know we are one paced and don't have speed to keep up with young teams??

Our bottom six (best 22) players are just don't contribute enough, can't carry that many plodders and most mistakes come from those players, due to lack of speed, awareness, panic under pressure or just don;t have the support around them from the rest of the team to help them out...

So many orange jumpers around the ball... When Mumford who can barely move weaves in and around our players for a give and receive, shows just how poor we were/are.
And yet when we got the ball we somehow kicked to outnumbered opponents who moved the ball quickly and put us under immense pressure...

A lot went wrong on Saturday night, but my main concern with our list, is that our foot skills are horrendous!! Also, how hard is it to handball to some ones mid section instead of their feet??
Our forward line would function a lot better if our inside 50 entries weren't half a foot high or big up and under kicks that create a pack, (we also have no one who can take a pack mark bar Howe and Moore who are at the other end of the ground) looking at the stats, we had more inside 50's, we had 4 more than the giants, we get the ball, but use it so poorly!!
Which has been consistent for 2-3 years now.

Our backline is pretty solid and keeps us in games, we need to build a team that rebounds quickly form defence, by adding quick/skillfull players?

Lets see what Macrae, McInnes, Poulter, McMahon, Rantall can offer? McCreery was a breath of fresh air with his attack on the ball. A few ore players like that can change a game. I'm sure Henry would want another crack after his first game.

other teams have have success this year with it, we need to try something...

Playing West Coast in Perth is not the time to blood a host of youngsters.

A massacre is awaiting us as it is.

No, wait a week and leave the debuts for Anzac day.

We have no choice it appears with at least one inclusion as Tay Adams a non starter
Would think medical sub (Greenwood) replace him

Who comes in then. Maybe inside mid Poulter

And then Queen's Birthday! Wow, it's been quite a while since I've dreaded this part of the season.

The selection of their most experienced players has achieved one win from 4

And taken into account there are not many more with a lot of AFL exposure it’s bite the bullet time and let it be dare time

Not 3 or 4 newbies. But a possible two at the start. Starting now

I found McCreery an invigorating part of Sat night—-I go back further when I first saw Greening / Barham/Daicos
Not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised

Every generation in fact every season up pops a new future 200 + gamer

Let’s do what’s been done for generations—every thing old is new again

Let’s do what other side’s in the comp are trialling

Greening, Barham and Peter Daicos would never have got a game in a Buckley-coached team. He's only interested in "work rate" and "pressure acts". There's no place in his "structures" for "talent".

Lol we complained the same thing with Malthouse, and with Shaw before him (remember Jason Wilde getting a game every week?). Thing about playing the kids is that we could get thumped — would have been 10 goals plus last week without Sidey for example. Do we want 100 point losses? That could kill the development of younger players, we’ve seen it before

We had Pendles, Adams and Sier off hurt in one quarter against GWS, and Adams and Sier didn’t return. If they were both fit I reckon we would have won.
