It would be a hail mary approach.
But hey why not.
Magden or Keane could take his spot down back.
Our forward line is hopeless it is a time to be bold.

I mentioned this in the goalless quarters thread

"I think it's time to play Darcy Moore at full forward. He's the only one on our list who looks capable of being the power forward we need. Madgen, Dunn, Shazza or Cameron can support Roughy down back. Sure the backline won't be as strong without Darcy down there but our forward line isn't as strong without him either and we need more goals.'

No. Will be AA at half back. Must play back.
There is no quick fix to our fwd line. 1 minute from a flag in ‘18 with a makeshift fwd line and I’m disappointed 2 drafts and trade period later we still don’t have a settled fwd line or even a way forward.

He's been tried as a forward already, but that doesn't mean he won't be in the future. However kicking for goal was he's achilles heel.
Im glad the club recognised this and played him back instead.
Also he really needs to bulk up and bullie he's opponents.

Ross Lyon certainly reckons he can play back or forward.

(If he had to choose between Moore and JdG, Lyon would go for Moore.)

Well, his father often played up forward, when resting ruck duties, and was a damn good forward too. Might be worth a shot, why not give it a spin against the Crows, a very winnable game, and see how it goes, i think he is the type of player now who can go well back or forward, i reckon he is now.

Without Howe, would create more problems than it would solve IMO

Moore is our best defender – perhaps even with Howe in the side, and unquestionably without – and an average forward at best. When he turned up in the forward line in the last quarter against West Coast (and missed his only shot at goal from 40m out, if I recall correctly), I think it was a sure sign that Buckley had given up on even saving the furniture and had decided to experiment. Long story short … no.

This. You don't take a guy who is potential AA and then 'move' him!

100% We have enough forwards on the list. Some of them just need to start playing like forwards.

Also, Moore isn't a great forward. His kick for goal didn't even go 40m. Like too many of our players, he tried to guide the ball through the goals instead of kicking it!

Most of our forwards have mental problems kicking for goals. I'd go so far to say they choke.

I know he disappeared from the game after quarter time, but I'd definitely be persisting with Cameron as a forward target (along with Mihocek). Looks like he can take a contested mark and kick straight; who knows, in a game in which we were actually competitive and hitting targets inside forward 50, he could have had a bag.

^ Yep, agree with David and Abdul.
Darcy is becoming the quintessential half-back. Darcy Cameron showed more than enough in the first quarter to earn more games over the next few weeks. Let's see what happens when players further up the ground can find some mojo again.

Maybe it's all in the way the ball is being delivered inside 50?

WCE had an almost unrepeatable day:
* 35 I50's
* 18 goals from 21 shots
* Every 2nd 50 entry was a goal

WCE went at 85% conversion, Collingwood at 40%. Swap the 2 around and we actually win!

Hard to watch the return of the kick and hope style forward entry - absolute monty for the defenders to clear and rebound.

Failure of defenders to drop in to the hole in front of Kennedy was disappointing - was like the game plan was to give him clear space to lead in to when ever he wanted.

Expect a much improved performance against the Dockers.

This stat is telling. We had 15 scoring shots compared to their 21. Had conversion been similar the margin may have only been 4-5 goals. A defeat nonetheless but perhaps a more palatable result. I mentioned previously that WCE had a day out and put on an almost perfect football display. They couldn't miss a target if they tried.
