Post subject: Pendles the coachReply with quote

On Triple M Ross Lyon asked Scott about coaching and his reply

I intend to go into coaching when my playing days finish but I would walk away from Collingwood and do my apprenticeship elsewhere to get a fresh prospective
All I’ve ever known is Collingwood

And and a later stage would like to return and coach Collingwood

Look this is not word for word cos I’ve gone off a radio broadcast but they are the thoughts of Pendles

One day maybe

he'll teach everyone the Matrix moves and we'll think the game is being played at half speed.

Watching the game yesterday, I think a few of our players were already playing at half speed (especially defensively).

Interesting comment from Pendles. Is it a result of his reflection on the coaching trajectory of one, Nathan Buckley?

To me this looks like avoidance behaviour😪 The list needs to be strengthened in a major way before a top established coach agrees to coach us. So maybe a first time coach like Yze might get the gig.

At the end of 2023: he retires.
2024-2025: assistant coach at Cats.
2026-2036: coaches Pies to five flags.

Yes, you heard it here first.

The other important question there is whether they were speaking with a view to joining up at Collingwood or at Hawthorn.

Pendles apparently said last night , at his Frankston function , that he would be going into coaching upon his retirement.

And that he is fit enough to play for a few more years at least , will hand over the captaincy , he favours Adams or Moore and said pies should be open to a co-captaincy of the two , as the next captain/s and would retire immediately if the pies were to win the Premoership in the next few seasons

He also caught up with Eddie for a coffee to thank him for everything that he had done for Collingwood and that was one of the reasons why Scott’s career and life has be set up so well because of what Eddie was able to achieve with the club

How would they join up at Dingley when Clarko is gone end of next season latest and Pendles more than likely to play on in 2022?
