does anyone remember a Geelong guy hitting DeGoey in a very similar incident and getting busted up in the face and NOTHING happening. The guy literally left the ground to enhance the contact directly to the head.
Now, they want to say intent doesn't matter?????? _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Look I get it, the AFL has to protect the head. De Goey gets a week, fine. The issue i have is that if De Goey gets a week so should have Kelly. That is garbage. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Very biased reporting from The Age, totally ignores how Oliver milked the free by throwing his arms wide and exaggerating the impact, and the fact he bounced straight up happy as Larry the second he was awarded the free. It’s club medical protocol to take a player off for assessment when there’s suspected (there wasn’t) head contact. Why is this never factored in to judging the incident?!
De Goey ran past the ball in the final quarter of the Queen’s Birthday clash and made high contact with Oliver, who left the ground after the incident

Bloody ridiculous when we start to get rolling with two tough wins in the bank
Then two of the most vital of our defence will miss games
Then Jordy hits form and shows the world how good a mid he is then a minor squimish and gets reported
Don’t believe in jinx but this is past joke stage _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Of course we did....we always roll over and take the pineapple fair up the proverbial these days - without so much as a whimper.
In the clubs defence - what can they do really- they have to defend it based on its own circumstance. They cannot dredge up the past as a defence.
So what I think what they should do is accept it and move on ( which they have done), but then publicly ask for clarification citing the Kelly incident from earlier in the year and then this.
The MRP are never held to account for inconsistency- and they are indeed inconsistent. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

I’ve watched the video a dozen times again and the way Oliver bounces straight up when given the free — with a big grin on his face — proves to me he was barely hit. Throwing his arms wide and going down like a soccer player seals it. I wish the club had appealed just so I could hear Oliver’s testimony because it would get very interesting. What a joke |

TBH, I cannot remember the AFL being held accountable or taking responsibility for any inconsistency by the MRP or the tribunal. Just doesn’t happen. Selective transparency it seems 🙄 _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. McKay was just cleared by the tribunal. Look, I don’t think it was worthy of a huge suspension, but one guy got a broken jaw, the other milked the free and bounced back up happy as Larry. This inconsistent shit from the AFL keeps happening year after year after year after year

I’m not so surprised by De Goey’s suspension, but I’m genuinely stunned Mackay got off. How!? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Mackay attacked the ball, De Goey attacked the player. Mackay made a play to win the ball whilst De Goey ran past the ball and targeted Oliver. Totally understand your feelings on Mackay not getting suspended, because of the outcome of the collision, but I think because he was really going for the ball he got off. _________________ "That was out-of-bounds" |
