The Age published a 1998 match report on a Shaw coached team in 1998 with a win - over Freo. Lots of names I recall with great respect and fondness in here. 90's magpies were exciting to watch:

I was there. Geez. It’ll be a long time, if ever, we see one of our players kick 11 goals kicked again. Rare for any club now. Different game today

Lucky enough to have seen Rocca doing this live at the ground. Also lucky enough to have seen fabulous Phil kick 11 goals against st Kilda at Moorabbin in 1975.Awesome effort!!

Saw McKenna kick 16.1 at Vic Park and the point hit the post. But the best was easily the 13 Daicos kicked at Carrarra. Went to the casino afterwards and was at a roulette table and alongside Mick McGuane Craig Starcevich and they where amazed at how easily he did it. As a laugh for my first bet I had 5 dollars on 35 and the next 5 on 13. Both came up and as I had then paid for my weekend I adjourned to the bar.

If we knew how to play Cox and kicked it to him properly, he could kick eleven in a game every week

I had that game on VHS and a whole heap of other ones from the 90's.

Made the mistake of sending them to a fellow Nickster, who was going to put them on DVD and send me copies... only been waiting 15 years Rolling Eyes

You can get a few Collingwood box set DVDs from JB Hi Fi for like $10.

One of the “Classics” DVD box sets has the following games in their entirety:

1991 Round 20 Vs Brisbane Bears (Daicos 13G)
1997 Round 15 Vs Fremantle Dockers (Rocca 9G)
2002 Round 8 Vs Brisbane Lions
2003 Round 7 Vs Adelaide Crows
2007 Semi Final Vs West Coast Eagles
2011 Preliminary Final Vs Hawthorn

made any excuse to work out back and glue myself to the radio.

I was at this game.

Fremantle wouldn't give up, I thought we could lose.

Thank good for Sav on the day.

Since Sav's bag of 11, these are the only instances where a player has kicked 11+ goals in a game since then.

Tony Lockett (Sydney) = 12 goals (Round 16 1998 vs Port Adelaide)
Matthew Lloyd (Essendon) = 13 goals (Round 3 1999 vs Sydney)
Scott Cummings (West Coast) = 14 goals (Round 4 2000 vs Adelaide)
Matthew Lloyd (Essendon) = 11 goals (Round 19 2003 vs Western Bulldogs)
Stephen Milne (St Kilda) = 11 goals (Round 22 2005 vs Brisbane)
Mark LeCras (West Coast) = 12 goals (Round 16 2010 vs Essendon)
Lance Franklin (Hawthorn) = 13 goals (Round 10 2012 vs North Melbourne)
Josh Kennedy (West Coast) = 11 goals (Round 8 2014 vs GWS)
Jack Riewoldt (Richmond) = 11 goals (Round 10 2014 vs GWS)

Was at that Sydney game when BT went silly. On the bus back to Melbourne the passengers were very vocal and the bus driver got the hump and was going to refuse to drive us. One bloke stood up and said well I am a MTTB bus driver and I will take these kids home. A hastily arranged truce was made until we went past a giant Magpie outside the Western Suburbs league club it started again. We got home in the end.
