Here's an example of extreme wishful thinking....
North with pick one nominate Daicos. We match.
North with pick 2 select Jason Horne.
Hawks with pick 3 nominate Sam Darcy. Dogs trade their first pick to Collingwood for other picks/points. Dogs match.
That gives us the #1 pick (Daicos) and a pick towards the end of the first round, assuming the Dogs go close to winning it. A pick around 15-18 puts us in the race for Jye Amiss and Jack Willams, both tall KPFs. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

After the game against the blues, its clear that our midfield is the main thing that needs, fixing, when you can't win a clearances or deliver the ball inside 50, Mckay only came into the game when Blues won the clearances...
A Walsh type midfield player and a Mckay type Fwd.... gee i hate Carlton! |

^ lol it is a nice pipe dream the dogs would just hand over thier first round pick to us...we would need something of value. Unless they are feeling sorry for us after the whole Treloar thing lol.
Any trading this year has two massive asterisks:
- Firstly picks, we don't have any we do have are needed for our obvious pick #1.
- Secondly money, I would really like the idea of getting say a Brander out of West Coast...but our cap is still far too tight. We will be letting go far more then getting in.
- Dib looks good, I do worry he might go before pick #20.
- above all we need a stable board and coach. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

The Dogs may trade their first pick if an early bid comes in for Darcy.
However, it won't be to us... we have points problems of our own and no picks to give them the points they need, hence the words extreme wishful thinking. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Just saw Rory Lobb's name linked to us.
Not sure he is what we're looking for - seems a bit like an expensive Jesse White. |

Lobb has been saying for a while he would consider a change of scenery. Normally comments like that arent great for tenure longevity at your current club. |

I have no idea why we didn't grab Lobb when he was first available at GWS. Instead we grab Aish from Brisbane at a time he struggled to play his best football there. Those picks for Aish then robbed us of any counter offer we could have made for Beams, not that we should have gone anywhere near Beams because that robbed us of any chase of getting Steve May. Our trading has been a complete utter disaster in which you don't know who out of Buckley, Ned Guy and Geoff Walsh are to blame. |

The problem at the time as I recall was Lobb was determined to go home to W.A.

We are in the middle of a rebuild
These take a number of years to achieve a result
We will not get every player we need this trade period
Since tall take longer to develop than mids aiming to get mids this year seems counter productive
we need a replacement for Roughhead soon but a KPF ASAP so 2023 will be interesting _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |
