Was reading Jordan Lewis comments about Gold Coast during the week and was along the lines of a similiar thought had been entertaining. On the basis they wont be around for the next flag tilt in 2030, send Pendles and Sidey to Gold Coast (throw in Thomas as steak knives) and in exchange receive (and subject to due diligence), receive in return players along thes of: Brodie, Fiorini and see if could sneak in Hollands as well. Win win, Gold Coast obtain champion players who are able to teach them how to train and Pies get players with 1st round potential and salary cap relief.
On the same token, trade Grundy to Geelong, Clark to Freo and Cerra to Pies. Exchange of draft picks to sweeten the deal.
Means together with Nick Daicos, midfield is done for many years.

So that’s the way you want to treat one of the greatest players ever to wear the black and white jumper? Dear me😣 Any wonder some Collingwood fans are hated with a passion dude🙄 I disagree strongly with your suggestion.

Nah, Geebung aren't effected by nonsense such as salary caps; they run their books like Melbourne Storm prior to 2010...

Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell; and it upset a substantial amount of their members too.

Here is a trade idea....
firstly, I do like Grundy and there is no doubt he is one of the top ruckman in the AFL. However Lynch seems to be developing well and Cameron is tracking well.
Grundy is also on a stupidly large contract for a long time.
Josh Kelly is a free agent and can re-sign with GWS on an extension that is very similar to Grundy's deal.
GWS would also get very good compensation for Kelly(first round) and they also need another ruckman.
We could send Grundy to GWS and get Kelly and their compo pick in return?

Pick would be eaten up by Daicos, Grundy > Kelly. No deal.

We some how need to get into the draft with gaining a extra couple picks
Sidey was offered up to crows, hawks and north end of last year and we couldn’t sell him for whatever reason (even though hawks took Phillips and we ended up giving north Stephenson)
Gold Coast would be ideal for him they have openly said they want to gain a couple senior players
Maybe package up Sidey and Thomas for a second round pick and upgrade our 3rd round pick
We don’t want to be going into deficit in 2022 draft we need to have some ammo
Daicos will be in black n white but we need more than one player to fix this list |

But if Dogs were perhaps giving him away at seasons end, you'd take him though. I'd expect his price will plummet at this rate?
We don't have much currency to trade with sadly...
