Grapevine says we’re putting Max Lynch up for trade. He was stiff to be dropped for Grundy the other week, not sure how he can prove himself if he’s never been given the opportunity to string more than a few games together

He's had more opportunity at Collingwood than Cameron had at the Swans...

Well if he’s out of contract ( which I believe he is ) then the ball is in his court.
He might also be the best currency we have outside our best 22, so if all parties agree, you’d have to consider it.
IF we could find or develop a tall forward or two, then Cameron would fill in as our second ruckman anyway.

Rather see him in the team instead of Cox.

Hes points for Daicos.
You cant have Cameron and Grundy and expect him to see much game time.
Begg is considered a developing 2nd ruck, Cox wont be there.
IF we were to somehow find a key forward it would also put pressure on the no of talls you can play.

I would think we match any bids for him. For a guy who’s played second fiddle to the snag he’s still plays a genuine role for us.

Are we talking about the same Max Lynch that most on here had delisted at the end of the 2020 season ? 12 months is a long time in footy.

Not true that he's had as much opportunities as some say. He hasn't had a decent run because we have one of the best ruckmen in the league taking his spot, and unlike Cox he is not a forward. That isn't going to change anytime soon.

In an ideal world we would trade Grundy for high draft picks, play Lynch or some other passable ruckman on a low income and pay a new gun midfielder or key forward the money that Gundy is getting. But that isn't going to happen, so fair enough for him to have a go somewhere else.

He is also much younger than Cameron was when Cameron left the Swans. Not a fair comparison as ruckman tend to mature much later than other players

I’m all for this. We’re in big trouble when Pendies and Sidey get old man’s disease/retire, and McRae, McInnes don’t develope or are injured.

Yes, we might get a box of potato chips for him and have to pay a third of his salary for the next three years.

Jarrod Witts and Jonathon Ceglar say hello

We have made the mistake before dumping ruckman who were about to take the next step.

This is what happens when you have a dominant ruckman in Grundy. If Witts and Ceglar hadn't made the jump to other AFL clubs they would both be playing in local Melbourne footy leagues now.

TBH Ceglar wasn’t that good at Hawthorn according to Hawks fans. He had a gun midfield. And players have a habit of working harder when they’re at the last chance saloon
