^ Kingsley at $26 is a bargain in my opinion.

The fact that Pyke embraced the con artist consultants who ran the pre-season camp, demonstrates he has no judgement whatsoever. He is particularly disliked by Indigenous players in Adelaide, and given we have such a sorry record in this area, it would be a monumental disaster for our club if we even interviewed this guy. I for one would burn my membership card.

Yeah, using indigenous artefacts as torture camp props can have that effect...

He has drifted right out to $2.40 now.
Pyke $5 (In from $34, takes a big chunk of cash to come in that much!)
Mitchell $6
Clarkson $9
& Yze $10, are the punters top 5.

Forget what 90% of the 'punters' think imo they're (the bookies) going to make a killing.

They always do duck, in fact, with their computer programs these days, it's practically impossible for a bookie NOT to win. They frame their markets so they can't lose.

^ apparently we are but that really doesn't mean a whole lot just yet, they'll be interviewing plenty i'm sure. Must say I'm glad Luke Ball is part of the selection panel. I respect his opinions in general.

Why do the media keep putting Ross Lyon forward as a prospective Collingwood coach?

Did they miss the moment at 1:08 in the video above?

I would have thought he's no chance after this segment on Footy Classified.
The media are speculating like everyone else. This will continue until someone is named coach. I really would be shocked if Lyon or Brad Scott was named coach.

People need to stop panicking when names get mentioned

I’m heartened that we’re doing a thorough search rather than looking to only 1-2 candidates.

Ross Lyon let Luke Ball go for nothing. Luke Ball was pissed off. Luke Ball now on the selection committee. Not good for Ross I’d have thought.

Collingwood’s coach hunt plan: cast the net wide

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/collingwood-s-coach-hunt-plan-cast-the-net-wide-20210630-p585pi.html

"They will look at both experienced senior coaches and assistant coaches within the AFL system with strong credentials.

They are planning to talk to a wide range of candidates before narrowing the options, according to club sources...

... the Magpies are expected to sound out ... Brad Scott, along with ... Don Pyke, Hawthorn assistant and Box Hill (VFL) coach Sam Mitchell, Richmond assistant Adam Kingsley, Melbourne assistant Adem Yze, Hawthorn assistant Craig McRae and a number of others.

Sources said they are likely to contact ... Ross Lyon as part of their process, as a matter of due diligence.

The Magpies also plan to use their sports psychologist, Jacqui Louder, in assessing the candidates, if necessary, in what has become a standard procedure for clubs who do thorough coach searches.
...

The search for the 2022 senior coach ... marks the first time in the club’s storied history that the Magpies have undertaken a wide open search and run the kind of intensive process that has been standard in the AFL. They are the last club to have run this kind of process."
