All the best Mayney!!
Worked your socks off to break into the team and never looked back.
Shame we couldn't get you to 100 club games, as i'm tipping your son will be a quality man and player (if he chooses to play AF) and put our hand in for father son.
All the best in the future. |

Just admire this bloke so much.
Hardly ever lets us down on the field even with some obvious limitations in his game.
Could have gone very differently for him after the start with us - How he turned it all around was a remarkable testament to strength of character.
All the best Chris, hope he enjoys a coaching gig at freo _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Thank you Chris Mayne for some amazing years of outstanding service.
I was highly critical of the recruitment decision and I am happy to admit you proved me wrong.
The courage you have shown for Collingwood (on & off-field) is in the upper echelons and you are now an integral part of our history with your amazing story.
I hope that if you choose to stay or return to Melbourne you will always have a home with us. |

Chris Mayne set an example of how to deal with disappointment and adversity. How he fought back from a really demoralising first season was such a credit to him. He became a stalwart part of our team in defence. Harvey's tribute to him expressed the respect that he has earned from the playing group. During this year as well, despite being near the end of his career, his presence in the team provided a necessary and beneficial stability to guide the development of our kids.
Thanks to Chris Mayne for all that you have done for the Pies. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Yes, there were heaps of posters here who wanted him gone and blamed the club for another “ordinary” recruiting decision. They were all premature. Mayne’s persistence was exemplary. Well done to a player I really respect. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. ^ It was an extremely stupid recruiting decision and should never have been made. It ought, though, to be possible to distinguish between the stupidity of the decision made by the Football Department, on the one hand, and the genuine efforts and fine character of the player concerned, on the other. |

The rotation of captain—Sidebottom then Taylor (Hawks game) & Howe (Briz game). Why not give Mayne the last game against Bummers as captain _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Apart from the first year I thought he was a good addition to the squad. Not great but you don’t get great for half a million. _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |
