So he wants to come back to Victoria. And Carlton is his likely destination.
Kinda wondering how they can fit him in their cap with Saad, Williams, etc chewing up a lot of money.
My question is, are we any chance to get him? Do we have the trade chips and can we fit him in the cap?
21 years of age with 76 games under his belt. What a land he would be. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

The Blues have an endless supply of $600,000-$750,000 for 4 year deals for disloyal wantaways who miss mummy's cooking or love cash more than performing.
Exhibits:
* Adam Saad
* Zac Williams
* Mitch McGovern
* J Martin
* Caleb Marchbank
* Matthew Kennedy
* W Setterfield
Now Cerra???
The AFL need to launch a Royal Commission into a salary cap breach by the scum. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

I looked at Cerra a bit this morning. He isnt exactly a super star looking at the stats. The games Ive seen freo play I cant remember him standing out.
For what they want for him and what he would want in a contract Id be passing. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

You stole my thunder. How can Carlton afford him when we can’t afford a bottom of the ladder discard? |

Yep Carlton are going to land Cerra. Watch this space they are going to need to lose some players to fit him in. High end draft picks who have either not worked or not been given games.
Think:
Lachie O'Brien
Patty Dow
Sam Petervski-Seton
We had interest in O'Brien last year. Would cost nothing and was a very high draft pick. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

The Blue Bellies have always dealt in dirty deals, brown paper bags, stuffed with cash, rorting the draft, the Underbelly crew were all Caaaarlton fans, go figure. Old John Elliots rorting of the draft, underhand rorts, sitll haunts that club, their salary cap is dodgy and a dogs hind leg. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I get what you are saying and the opportunity. To me, all of these players are the type they went after from GWS. High picks that shoulda been serious players but just vanilla. Maybe a Matthew Kennedy but Id rather Lipinski from the dogs.
Check Caleb Poulters stats as a first year player against all of those named. remembering Caleb played as a wing so more outside than contested. His stats stack up comfortably. He will only get better as he puts on size. Id be saving my money for him. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Your right MJ, they might be dead ends. But it's the old 50 million dollar question... are they duds or were they in a dud system?
I get the feeling if Collingwood are going to fast track our rebuild we might need to so some Essendon / Port style moneyball pick ups. You don't go top end in the draft for no reason. They would cost nothing in picks and would be cheap on the cap.
Like I say, you could be right. But if we get the right coach with the right support who understands how to work with these kids. Well we could just turn a few of these guys back into jets.
We could turn a 5 year rebuild waiting on draft picks and development into suddenly 2023 looking back up the ladder. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Just saw your thoughts on Lipinski who has been linked to Collingwood.
I rate this bloke. Everytime I see him play, he gets plenty of it and uses it well but he’s always the first one dropped. Might be his lack of pressure or attitude to hard work but depending on the trade involved, I wouldn’t be against him in black and white. Plays either end of the ground. He strikes me me as an upgrade on Thomas as a H F F and probably an upgrade on Noble as a H B F |

^ yep. Also he is very much an inside mid which might explain why he has struggled to break in. With our kids this is the type we need. Especially with McCrae and N Daicos ball use. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"
