Sounds like Masks and QR Codes are going by end of the Month in Victoria

It feels like they already have. I took someone to a doctor's clinic today. We didn't need to use the QR code and both the GP and the receptionist weren't wearing masks. Nor were the other three people in the waiting area

I'd be going to a different doctors clinic.

So state homes are accounting for 10% of aged care deaths? Interesting, so it’s clearly not a private aged care problem at all given state aged care accounts for 10% or less of all aged care homes in Victoria!

Maybe it just shows you can’t protect the elderly when the virus is out of control, which it was in the second wave solely due to the state government’s incompetence. Funny how it was only one state who so royally $%$ed it up in 2020 yet all they do is blame the Feds. Meanwhile the rest of the states just did the job they agreed to.

This article, of course, demonstrates that your post is just unmitigated drivel. Plainly, Victorian public sector aged care homes were not the problem and plainly you can protect people in aged care from the virus. But only if you give a f%^&: https://www.theage.com.au/politics/victoria/why-victorian-public-aged-care-homes-were-spared-the-worst-of-coronavirus-20220214-p59wco.html:

Quote:
During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, three residents got the virus in Victorian public sector aged care homes and none died. Between March and December that year, in the state’s private and not-for-profit homes, there were almost 2000 coronavirus cases and 655 residents died with the virus.

In 2021, three residents of Victoria’s public aged care homes died. This year, as the Omicron wave has torn through aged care homes killing an average of 17 residents each day, just three people in total in Victoria’s state-run homes have died.

Timing is a wonderful thing...Saw that this morning and had a chuckle... nothing like a bit of evidence to flush out ignorance and stupidity...

So you’re saying your post was bullshit and lies?

Btw the real reason Covid didn’t infiltrate state homes in 2020 is because 99% of them were in regional areas which had no cases.

Indeed. It wasn't my doctor. It was my friend's. But I'll be telling him to get a new one. Plus I wrote a fairly brutal (but true) one star Google review of the clinic.

Queensland has recorded 39 COVID deaths, however the latest cases stretch back to mid January with the Chief Health Officer warning it does not indicate a peak in cases.

There were 5,665 new cases of the virus recorded in the latest reporting period with 382 people in public hospitals, down from 484 on Monday.

A further 26 people are being treated in private hospitals with 33 people in intensive care units, including 17 people on ventilators.

Chief Health Officer John Gerrard said the reported death toll from today did not indicate a peak in cases, but included data as far back as January 17.

@ dave, Yep,

Key points for most people are, from 6pm tomorrow:

Density limits removed in Hospitality
QR codes not required in retail (but still in hospitality)
Indoor dance floors are back open so Kevin Bacon can cancel his visit

Expect the "work from home if you can" recommendation to be scrapped by next weekend along with relaxing of mask rules indoors following what NSW has already announced. Back to the offices from 28 Feb.

Apart from Jack Darling and Liam Jones, are any other AFL players refusing to get vaccinated?

There's a Norf player who had a bad reaction to his first shot and doesn't want a second, can't remember his name.

Jed Anderson. A shame, I’ve always liked him as a player.

This looks like a convenient place to close Coronavirus 4.
