6 wickets to Rashid Khan.
He only has 24 balls. A wicket every 4 balls!! He was on a hat trick twice!! (Team hat trick on the first.)
If the batters had any brains, after Rashid's first few wickets, they'd have looked just to survive and play him out. They must have **** for brains. To go with their **** batting techniques. They can't cope with the ball spinning away. e.g. Smith. Brad Hodge was right about that. ... |
Oz (and England!!) batters' hopelessness against legspin again on show last week.
Cameron Boyce took a double hat-trick.
"Enter Boyce, the leg-spinner who represented Australia in seven T20Is from 2014 to 2016.
What followed was nothing short of stunning – with Boyce taking four top-order wickets in four balls, spread across two overs.
When Boyce trapped Daniel Sams in front for a golden duck, the 32-year-old created history by becoming the first player to manage a double hat-trick in the BBL.
It’s a very rare feat, with Boyce becoming just the tenth player in T20 history, across all tournaments and countries, to snare four wickets in four balls. No player has ever done it on Australian soil.
...
With the Thunder cruising at 0-80, the men in green lost 4-5 when Boyce removed Hales (44), Jason Sangha (2) and then Alex Ross first ball on the hat-trick delivery – trapped in front – before Sams was also adjudged LBW.
...
... Boyce picked up his fifth wicket on ball 13 of his spell before running out Ben Cutting at the bowler’s end, when the ball clipped his finger, to cap a memorable day."

The term 'double hat trick' is a misnomer.
Here's why.
A batsman takes his personal score to 100 - a century. He then takes a single.
0-100 = a century. 1-101 = a double century ? Nope. _________________ Donny.

I've taken the Sixers @ $4.50 to win the final. Have to get these first, but those odds were too juicy to resist. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

"The defending BBL champions have been forced to add their assistant coach to their squad for tonight's 'Challenger' final
Sydney Sixers star Josh Philippe has been ruled out of tonight's Challenger final at the SCG after testing positive to COVID-19.
The Sixers confirmed Philippe, who is the tournament's seventh-highest run scorer with 429 runs for the season, had returned a positive COVID test result this morning and will miss the clash against the Strikers (7:25pm AEDT) and also Friday's final - should they advance.
It's a huge blow for the Sixers' chances of a historic three-peat as he's the third member of their squad to be diagnosed with the virus in the past week after fellow opener Jack Edwards and his brother Mickey were ruled out of the game against the Perth Scorchers last Saturday.
Wicketkeeper-batter Jay Lenton, who has been travelling and working as an assistant coach with the Sixers since the start of the month, has been added to their squad to replace Philippe."

Yeah, not great terminology, is it?
But at least no one has ever taken 6 wickets in 6 balls...
Wasim Akram once took 4 wickets in 5 balls. The non-wicket ball was a dropped catch.
(Remember when Warnie dropped the hat-trick ball nick off Fleming's bowling?! ) |

Moises won the flip. Sixers will bowl first.
Oz's last great batsman, Ricky Ponting, reckons that's a strange decision...
And Siddle says he'd have chosen to bat. |

Sixers already out to $5.50. Maybe Philippe's absence...? |

K wrote: | Sixers will have to regroup... and stop whingeing about not being allowed to play FTB Smith.
Dunno why some media say it's not allowed on a "technicality". Huh?? FTB was not on the Sixers' list! If the other teams allowed it, it'd be like allowing the Sixers extra spots on the list and extra salary cap space.
Strikers have Carey and Head... That's 'cos they were on the Strikers' list. They had to carry on when those fellas were unavailable and still fit them in their salary cap.
Scorchers have Jhye, Inglis and M. Marsh. That's cos they were on the Scorchers' list. They had to carry on when those fellas were unavailable and still fit them in their salary cap.
It's simple. It's not a "technicality"... |
Wowee...
More whingeing... Whingeing article from M. Conn. Must be 'cos he's from Sydney. Unhinged!! FTB is not on the Sixers' list. It's irrelevant who he played for 10 years ago or 1 year ago...
At least S'OK recognised this... SO'K said they could let Cummins play for Thunder and Green for Scorchers.... That won't work... 'cos we don't even know the other Oz players want to play BBL. Just to make FTB and Sixers happy, you'd have to persuade the others to play... Who'd they persuade to play for Strikers??? (It'd need to be someone the Strikers would actually play... Starc??? )

Meanwhile, Strikers have lost 2 early wickets, incl. Carey.
Head is in...
Err... Not any more!! Bowled by Abbott. Had a huge slog and lost his stumps!
3/21. Big trouble for Strikers. |
