This is the death knell for day Grand finals. Channel 7 is calling the shots and to hell with supporters.

Forget about lower league clubs who raise thousands on GF day by having parties. The late start or more importantly late finishes will be an issue. WAGS will be reluctant to go and pick up blokes at 11 or 12 O Clock

Taxis will be near impossible to get.

Public transport will be jammed packed.

Little kids probably won't go.

By the time Victoria based players get back to home base if played at the G it could be 1.00 AM.

Pubs will likely be shut or closing as fans miss an opportunity to celebrate.

In addition you can guarantee SA and NSW governments will push to hold one, Gil probably wants a Superbowl type scenario, To this end all they need to do is allow a Tasmanian team and possibly a NT team in and split the comp into conferences. It could be done so that a non Victorian team and one Victorian team are certain to play off every year. They could try to stretch it to 28 rounds or reduce to 19. Then have a top 5 in each conference and the 2 winners play off

I suspect there will also be a push for permanent Thursday and Monday night slots. And more Sunday night and twighlit slots.

TV rights pays the bills.

Yet that garbage club North Melbourne has a GF lunch for its members in WA.... not a peep from Collingwood.
