Rumour has it some clubs mandated vaccination and some haven't.
WA won't let them in if not vacinated.
The media/clubs won't release the facts that they jumped the queue to get Pfizer, or forced them to get AZ with higher risk for their young age.

So depending on what teams make the GF, the destination may not be finalised until after prelim week

It'll be at OPTUS. I haven't heard of the vaccination requirements?

Now, ticket allocation.... surely, every AFL club gets an allocation to use as they please as per every other year?
I'll be going if I can get a ticket. It's a great stadium. The Pies v Cats game here last year was sensational.

Without half brain wiggle fans it's the 2nd best stadium in Australia easily.

Confirmed for Perth.

Now, let's see a fair ticket distribution.... yeah right, I'll believe it when I see it.

Sad day for Victorian footy.

Two years of no Grand Final at the MCG.

That'll be it though.

Surely the country moves forward and starts learning to live with the Rony?!

I just hope they don't give too many tickets to the half brain wiggle fans, what an embarrassment to WA they are.

I wonder if they'll take any notice of me..... This conversation starts at the bottom and works up.

HI again

Yes, my point exactly. Non competing clubs should still be allocated tickets for distribution, as they see fit. Of course, with limited travel from interstate, this allocation should be made available, to club members in WA.

The last thing you want is the stadium packed with booing eagles fans! Giving ALL clubs members an opportunity to purchase tickets is surely the fairest option? Even if each club is only given 500-1000 tickets. This also gives cash strapped AFL clubs a chance to gain some form of income, which I’m sure they would be screaming out for after the ‘no crowd’ fixtures.

Hopefully this is taken into consideration when ticket allocation is calculated?

Regards

Paul.

Hi Paul,

The below is correct, we were just referring to your point that these tickets are made available to their members by the clubs. As is mentioned in the below breakdown, the non-competing teams will often use these tickets for club staff, players, sponsors and guests.

Kind regards,

Hi There
I beg to differ, as per the below from the AFL in previous seasons.
Non-competing AFL clubs: 0 to 7000
The AFL gives the 16 AFL clubs that are not in the grand final access to these tickets for club staff, players, sponsors and guests.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/footy-s-biggest-day-how-the-tickets-are-allocated-20180920-p50518.html
How else are all clubs able to host 'Grand Final breakfast packages' ?
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your email.

Each Grand Final has tickets allocated to COMPETING club members, however non competing club members do not have an allocation that they allow members to purchase.

We recommend keeping an eye for updates on the AFL website, if General Public tickets become available this will be communicated via these channels.

Kind regards,
AFL Ticketing

Hi There

I would hope that ticket allocations for the GF are similar to every other years GF, IE : ALL AFL clubs are allocated a number of tickets for distribution to their members?

I have been a member of Collingwood for 24 years and there should be some reward for members of ALL clubs who live in WA.

Cheers

Paul

Would've been great for Collingwood if we'd been good enough to make the GF. Missed opportunities to break the GF Curse.

Good thing neither WA club is in it. Now it's just a neutral venue for the GFinalists.

^ is the AFL GF full capacity. If not, then I reckon you're shit outta luck asking for a non competing club allocation.

If they do that they SHOULD allow people to bring their own food and a limited amount of drink in plastic bottles. But they won't. I bet the corporate areas were fully staffed.

Here's the official word...

Grand Final ticket allocation

The official ticket allocation for the Grand Final will be announced by the AFL early next week, but it’ll be similar to the traditional allocation model used for the MCG, with members of the two competing clubs will get priority access. All AFL clubs will receive a small allocation, including the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle. It’s expected more tickets than usual will be available to the general public. There will also be plenty of corporate hospitality options.

This is the death knell for day Grand finals. Channel 7 is calling the shots and to hell with supporters.

Forget about lower league clubs who raise thousands on GF day by having parties. The late start or more importantly late finishes will be an issue. WAGS will be reluctant to go and pick up blokes at 11 or 12 O Clock

Taxis will be near impossible to get.

Public transport will be jammed packed.

Little kids probably won't go.

By the time Victoria based players get back to home base if played at the G it could be 1.00 AM.

Pubs will likely be shut or closing as fans miss an opportunity to celebrate.

In addition you can guarantee SA and NSW governments will push to hold one, Gil probably wants a Superbowl type scenario, To this end all they need to do is allow a Tasmanian team and possibly a NT team in and split the comp into conferences. It could be done so that a non Victorian team and one Victorian team are certain to play off every year. They could try to stretch it to 28 rounds or reduce to 19. Then have a top 5 in each conference and the 2 winners play off

I suspect there will also be a push for permanent Thursday and Monday night slots. And more Sunday night and twighlit slots.

And AFL muppet Barrett wrote an article on the webshite pushing for a permanent night Grand Final. If I was the footyt clubs I would ban all interviews with players until the next day so the p;ayers can recover. How would they like those apples.
