If he succeeds, then look for a better deal.
In any case, an upgrade on Madge. |
The upgrade is basically Brander is 6 years younger than Madgen so suits our age profile. Otherwise reality which many of us choose to ignore is Madgen is playing better football than Brander. Being drafted at 13 doesn’t make you better footballer than a rookie. You need better evidence than that. |

Why does is it an issue as to why the club chooses to get him? I have faith that McRae knows what he is doing and that’s all that matters. Maybe Brander is a back up for Magden? Whatever the reason is, I will support him in a black and white jumper. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Me too. I'm happy for the club to get him. However this discussion is about the merits of Brander over Madgen with a few suggesting we delist Madgen to secure Brander. I have no idea what the intentions of the club are. All I'm saying is being a former number 13 pick doesn't make you a better player than Madgen and so far Brander hasn't displayed anything remotely deserving of a number 13 pick. |

So yesterday my boss said that on the radio it was reported Collingwood were set to sign Brander as a delisted free agent. I haven’t seen it been reported anywhere officially.
When is the delisted free agency period? |

I'm fine with it if it's true. But I don't think we should have a thread titled Jarrod Brander versus Jack Madgen. |

What requirements if any has Brander specified in terms of tenure and wage?

That's my reading of a comparison. Different positions and evidence suggests Madgen playing better footy. |

^ yep, and Madgen is part of our current depth, in the backline. Brander cant help there. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

I'd rather us not have depth in the backline than keep Madgen. Look what the Roos have done. Essentially:
* Sacked Trent Durmont (26 year old)
* sacked Shaun Atley (240 games and only 29)
* swapped R Tarrant to Richmond (33 years old)
Combined with off-loading many players last season. When you're in a rebuild please rebuild and clear the dead wood. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

^ Tarrant left North as a FA. They wanted him to stay.
Again, I was after Brander months ago. Something is not right and I wouldnt be giving a Madgen up for him _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Point / comparison is irrelevant now.
Madden just signed a new contract. With Noble and Wilson. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Not sure why the Magden v Brander debate
Unless its just a convoluted sack Magden thread
Depending on why Brander was sacked I agree look at him unlike our other new KPF's he doesn't need development.
Guess how much he asks for could be the deciding factor _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

To be fair tho, we've cut a lot of dead wood recently. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
