Post subject: Buckley’s book | |
|
Buckley has been writing a book himself since his departure and recently engaged a former journalist to assist with its structure and giving him ideas on subjects he could write about
There is no book deal (yet) for whatever reason Nathan has decided he just wants this to be something in mainly his own words not written by a ghost writer
I can divulge thus far he has chapters including
His relationship with Eddie
His departure
The succession plan
Best players he played with and against
Best players he coached (he put these into 2 separate categories best players & match winners and best players for team needs who would do whatever it took to for team success)
There are 5 current players in on the list who made his top 10
Pendles, JDG, Crisp, Adams & Moore (he is a huge wrap on Moore)
While it’s not a finished product yet (far from it actually) I personally hope he shares in his words his time at the club |

Maybe this will appear too cynical, but do you really expect that he will share in all honesty his experiences and the events that transpired at the club, especially at the end of 2020?
I will wait for the reviews before I purchase this volume. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Mate I don’t know to be honest
I guess it will depend on factors like does he feel wronged or cheated or does he accept his time had come and he was comfortable with the departure
I don’t see him making it like a tell all if there’s hard feelings he doesn’t seem like that sort of person really but then again with Eddie gone maybe he doesn’t feel the same sense of loyalty to the new administration
Time will tell his yet to do a book deal so we are a fair way from seeing it on book shelves |

Thanks Q M.
He certainly seems to have embraced media street since his time away from the coal face. Personally, I can’t help but think he has chosen a path that suggests he is less likely to coach again at the highest level.
Time will tell. |

Mate honestly I think your right
I think his heart is black and white only
Also there might be a chance we share one of his boys in a father son draft and he wouldn’t want to coach against them |

" Why did I let Lachie Keefe Go FFS ?" There is four chapters on this when we needed a fit tall defender in the 2018 Grand Final.
Many people are blamed mainly Geoff Walsh who still thought he was on the injury update even though he was at GWS.
P.S. This book will never outsell " The Taylor Dairies". _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

"Collingwood and Me" by Peter Daicos is my favourite. |

Will his shameless cashing-in on the Club never cease? 300k to sit in the jungle not enough for him?

Wow... So many current players... says a lot 'bout the current players who are not on the list!!
No surprise re. Moore. After all, Moore is our best player right now... |

You've raised an issue that makes me shake my head in disbelief - how posters can make character/personalty judgements of our significant Collingwood football identities, past and present, when they don't know them personally
It's different to commenting on their footballing abilities or related football roles, as these are the only things we can judge first hand, because we can directly observe them..
Aah well, as you suggest, perhaps it's driven by envy? I tend to think that such derogatory comments discredit the poster far more than the subject
