With Carlton doing well at the moment and were coming off a big win in Perth, there should be a massive crowd next week.
At least 80,000. _________________ 2016 Player Sponsor for Travis Varcoe

Add to that it’s 128 wins each with 4 draws head to head! Huge game. |

Yes we did beat Carlton last year in Round 2 and then to lost them the 2nd meeting when we played them.
Carlton are up on about gonna be a big test for us.
Would be good to give them a reality check. _________________ 2016 Player Sponsor for Travis Varcoe

In pre-covid times, this match would get 80,000+ but now I'm not so sure it will reach it. After Anzac Day, the next highest crowd of the season so far is 72K. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

This game is still the biggest rivalry in the AFL; return it to it's former glory.
The stage is set - all we need to do is perform. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Carlton are heavy favourites with the bookies and the media. They are playing great footy, full of confidence. It will be satisfying to see them choke under the weight of expectation. Pies by 8 points. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Think we have a real chance in this game.
Midfield will be the decider.
They have a potent midfield.
Here is where we must measure up.
Tonight's performance is a clear indicator that we can.
The fact that McKay is missing is a huge setback for them. Given our defensive performance tonight, we have the capacity to deal with their one spearhead in Curnow.
I think this game will be very close.
50-50 in my mind. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Carlton are a strong clearance team, so I hope our midfield is well prepared after being smashed in this area against the Dogs a few weeks ago. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

In roughhead out cox
Yep cracker of a match this one
True test and a real indication on where we are actually at
Good that no injuries came out of the freo game apart from cox as we know of look it’s only Monday we normally get the injury news on Tuesday
Should be a solid crowd mcg Sunday afternoon 75 k
Be good if it’s bit showers day as is predicted too think it’s showers Sunday in the weather forecast and 17 degrees
Like to see if roughy comes in Darcy Moore plays as on the CHF line
Like crispy play as on baller and play de goey as forward too
See if we can back up the win in Perth with a win against the blues |

Glad we've got a full week after that effort. The spirits will be up after today, which is good timing. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

^ Adams ought not be suspended: that should not have been a free kick. It wasn't a dangerous tackle and the free kick should have been paid to him for holding the ball. I don't believe the MRP has announced the results of its reviw of yesterday's games. I understand that umpires will make such errors in the heat of battle but I would expect the MRP to exclude that once they get to watch and re-watch it. |

The free was correct as it was a sling tackle that caused the Freo player to hit the ground with his head. As they hate this type of tackle, he might get a week even though it did not cause any injury. The replay that'll get him is Q1 with 14:00 on the clock. |
