If available, then he should retain his spot. Obviously Henry will play, so we need someone to go out of the starting line-up to become the injury-sub. Despite playing a reasonable game, I'd give that job to Tyler Brown. Alternatively, McCreery could be the sub, but I think he is a valuable part of our forward set-up, and we need to start building some continuity of personnel, particularly in our forward line.
Pies by 18 points! |
This is a really hard call. I think it is the only selection conundrum we have this week, which is a good space to be.
Cox, with his overwhelming height, might create an extra element of unpredictablity and danger across the ground. While in the ruck, he will have an overwhelming height advantage over Silvagni/Cripps, which could perhaps be important. His presence in the forward line as another potential tall target might heighten the impact that Henry can have, even above last week. Cox's presence bringing the ball to ground level at all costs might also be significant in the forward line, with all of McCreery, Ginnivan and Elliot on the field. I remember during the game thread, that many seemed pleased when Cox was injured because Henry could come on. But it is possible that had Henry and Cox both been on at the same time, our domination would even have been greater.
On the other hand, the combination of Cameron and Tyler Brown was very mobile and we moved the ball very fast, with Brown playing a strong role as second ruck.
TBH, I am unable to make a decision on this. There are advantages in both options. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Avalon Airport Oval (aka Chirnside Park). It is home game for Werribee. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

WE wont make the Finals this season, so for me, this is our GRAND FINAL AND LETS APPROACH IT AS SUCH. Throw the whole box and dice at these bastards, chuck everything at them, give them nothing but unremitting sheer hell, attack, attack, constantly, never let up, for four quarters. For me, beating these pricks by around four goals, would do me for the rest of the season, or until we next meet later on, then beat em again and stuff up their Final Four hopes. ! DO i hate Carrrrrrrlton, you ask, IS the Pope a Catholic ?? LOL. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Let’s take it a step further—no let’s take it all the way!!!
If it’s thought we won’t play finals (but don’t give up on that either) then let’s
fine tune our game plan to stack up against the top sides we will play thru the rest of season
Getting games and winning attitude into the future finals bound kids
Exciting times will come if we approach the killer instinct
Actually last Sunday against the Dockers showed the pressure we applied works
Now to make it work against all comers _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Absolutely! the pope is a Catholic!
For us old timers there is something about those blues that stirs up feelings towards the spite end of the spectrum and believe me nothing has changed for more than 50 years of following the Pies! Mate I am affected now! no need for Sunday to come around, it feels like a final The anticipation is tense, Do it for us Pies! |

All teams both good & not so good have a pivotal point in a season that can define the games to come
I recall North loosing some 8 from 10 games in the 70,s to eventually go thru and win the flag
Point is are we at that stage now to have a better 2 half of season
Well I’m hoping they do and kids learn what’s needed to consistently win games _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Presuming Cox plays, this is the only change I'd make:
In: Henry
Out: McCreery

Fly said they discussed Henry's inclusion as Sub for 30 minutes.!!
Having spent 30 seconds on the selection couch, my change :
Out T Brown
In Henry / Cox
Reasoning :
Henry deserves his spot.
T Brown played the Ruck role when Cox went off. Cox for Brown. |

I would bring in Paulter (if fit) and Ruscoe for this game. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |
