Why do the same people keep underselling these wins against “ lesser opposition “. It’s an equalised competition, you’re not meant to win 8 in a row.
The Crows have been ok at home. There are an average of 2 or 3 upsets every week and we are yet to be one of them ( albeit when weve been involved, it’s us causing the upset ) It was one of the Crows better teams for the year and we’re about 5 short of our best 22. Even our replacements were first and second gamers.
Time to appreciate every narrow victory we participate in, even against the lowly teams, cause there will be plenty of the fancies who won’t.
How are the Tigers looking against North right now ?
I reckon today was a bloody great win and all of a sudden, Norths win is starting to look ok too.

Thank you McCreery ❤️

Again the match saving effort.

His run to put pressure on the Crows last kick towards the 50 meant it went high and towards the boundary, rather than inside 50.

Add to that, Sidey with two monumental efforts in the last 60 seconds. A tackle and a smother.

Ruscoe and Bianco ✅

I think Johnson will put pressure on hoskin-Elliott

Givinan will also come under pressure, if you get your hands to the ball then bloody use it… forget any more goals from free kicks.. wether it’s right or wrong the fact is, something has to change and it won’t be the umpires!!

Might have found a in and under in charmichael not polished but has a dip

Against Carlton we will struggle on height … might think about playing micheok down back if Grundy is back in team

Funny you should mention....

I missed the game today to go see the Giants Lions live at Manuka, kept a very close eye on McStay...I just don't see it.

Could be a role player, but not much more I'd say.

Johnson looks a real live wire though

I just can't believe how good Nick Daicos is and has become. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought he was this good. What 19 year old has 40 & 3 goals in the wet? A freak like his old man. J Daicos is also very good, chin up mate!!

Was great to get up for Pendles 350th, a true champion of the game deserves a win and what a win it was, done in true 2022 Collingwood heart attack style! Would we really want it any other way. If I was on pills I'd be taking a few right now.

Don't mind if I do!

Henry out of contract at the end of the year. Resign him and forget McStay. He’d compete for Henry’s spot. Other clubs will come knocking. Henry can be a big part of our future.

Currently equal 1st on the ladder. Whatever happens from here on out is a bonus. Coach of the year, best first year player of the year. Lots to like moving forward.

Pies win in another gripping contest sending Pendles on his way to a few well deserved ice cold Powerades to celebrate his 350th with the AFL's best player kicking 3 goals and 40 touches. We just saw the toothless tigers choke and shit the bed against the bottom team (albeit, a much improved one!) and if we can just watch the Blues get rolled tonight, well.....what a day this would be!

Watching the highlights it’s occurred to me how beneficial it is to Nick Daicos’ game to have Pendles in his vicinity. As if he doesn’t have enough class for a first year player he’s learning from the best at close quarters and regularly getting released to use his sublime kicking skills to maximum effect.

Thank goodness for Sidebottom. Picked up the pace and got going when we needed a serious lift in the first quarter.
A real impressive performance.

Just watched on delay. Magnificent. Every week I seem to say that's my favourite win. Just gutsy. Beaten in the middle with our dodgy in-close handling costing us again.

If you watch the replay, you'll see Coxy was hobbling the first half and could barely run, but again the momentum followed him with a hugely influential second half. Cameron wasn't bad, but this was a game where we needed our ruck to stop their advantage at the clearance, and Coxy did just that. (It would've been ideal for Grundy as we needed more in the middle).

By god Nicky boy is a gun.

The youngsters did well even though we got smashed at the bounce, giving their big forwards dominance. Carmichael's game was fantastic, while Johnson showed plenty on debut, and that goal was massive.

We're at least a gun mid and forward short, and our ball handling at clearances can be costly, but this is a team that never sees itself at a disadvantage.

Congrats Pendles on a huge career. They wanted it for him, and he wanted it, playing a great game.

Love the discipline of players like Jamie, Maynard, Noble and and Checkers, who even if not having it their own way keep going until they get on top. The skill level of Bianco and Ruscoe stands out, with Bianco excellent. Quaynor's clean handling and run was missed. Lipinski bounced back.

This is a team where players lift after a tough half, and always have something more.

Best: Nicky Boy, Maynard, Pendles, Carmichael (incredible story), Bianco. Coxy would get votes from me because he turned that game after half time after hobbling through the first half.

We are the tight finish specialists, which will hold us in good stead in the finals. Throw in Grundy, JDG, Adams and IQ and we'd be smashing teams.

I'm saying it now - N Daicos will win 4 Brownlows. Not only is he the best first year player ever, but he is so clean and fair that he stands out as the best and fairest. As others have already noted, he is sure to pick up lots of votes this year. If he continues on in his current vein of form for the remainder of the season, then he could well be in contention to win the Charlie this year.

It was good to see Cox stand up in the ruck in the final quarter as he hadn't done much else. In fact, I might be wrong, but I don't think he took a single mark all day.

Lipinski played a better game but I thought Crisp was quiet again. I suspect he's playing with a minor injury. We will need him back to his best come September.

Maynard was our best defender and is having his best year imo.

Carmichael is a player. He needs to learn a bit of composure, including knowing when to handball, but he hs the makings of a top player. Johnson was nervy early, but as he got accustomed to the pace, he got better and better. Both of his goals were fantastic. As someone else noted, it was Bianco's best game. He is highly skilled and a great decision-maker. He still lacks a little pace, but the wet weather conditions suited him well.

It's going to be hard, but still reckon we are well-placed to make the top 4. We just have to keep winning.

Some one (or a few) concerns on winning close ones by a goal or less

Well I’ll take that over losing a game by 5 or less

Embrace it. We are getting close to the art of knowing how to win at any cost

Next is how to win by the steam roller method
