"Nick Kyrgios has reached the quarter-finals of the US Open for the first time, defeating world number one and defending champion Daniil Medvedev 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Monday.

It was a dominant showing from the Australian, who fired 20 aces, 52 winners and won 75 per cent on his first serve.

He will now face Karen Khachanov, who also reached the quarter-finals of the US Open for the first time on Sunday after upsetting Spanish 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta in a five-set thriller."

Medvedev is historically strong at the USO, so this is very impressive from Nick.

"Ajla Tomljanovic sent Serena Williams into almost certain retirement when she knocked the tennis legend out of the US Open.

The challenge for the Australian would be to get herself back up to get past Liudmila Samsonova and into the quarter-finals at the US Open."
