You could add Cox to that list too. Never known a player to have such significant ocular injuries. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Krueger is the one that hurts. He has more ability, athleticism and physical attributes than the rest of that list combined. |

the tragedies that were Lee Walker and Sean Rusling. Both could have been anything but Tangles probably tops that list.
Maybe it says something about taking young key position players and key forwards who showed little game smarts at other clubs? White defo a misstep. All clubs trying to turn young Irish kids into AFL players so bound to be missteps also. Marty Clark was a revolution for a while although a small.
How much success have we had with Checkers, mature body, mature head. Just slotted in up forward like we didn't even know we were missing it. Not bad for a VFL defender. Shane Wakelin became a reliable defender when we needed him and played in some great games.
like the Frampton and McStay moves now given the context and comparison with another skinny teenager.
KP players get less chances in the system. 6 to 8 talls per team of 22 is a low percentage already. opps for smalls, mids and utilities are in abundance by ration and comparison. makes it harder to have developing talls on the list as even when there's a vacancy they may not get picked and a team plays small. when did Kelly and McMahon get picked even though we played only Checkers with Cox, DC or Begg rotating fwd or Moore and Howe down back.
Not saying either Kelly or McMahon are / were going to be a star but Adam Goodes was once resigned to the reserves until Sydney had lost pretty much all of their talls to injury / suspension and Goodes was picked to play a ruck role as a last resort. The rest is history.
For the names on the list (Kelly, Kreuegar, Dean, Keane, Tohill, McMahon + others from the last decade +), getting the opportunity sometimes doesn't come and maybe we should change our recruiting and selection strategy. If a spot on the ground is there sometimes you have to pick them and give them a go. Selectors will be looking at the young ones not competing physically at VFL and dont pick them however. And then the message to KP is you play well at VFL level (Madgen) fill a hole in the AFL team when needed and then get delisted.
Begg got a look at least last year. How long did it take for Max Lynch to get a game, look promising and then get shipped off. Ceglar became a Hawk regular and we couldn't fit him in at the time as we had 7 ruckman on the list?
Back to KP players, I think it's better they are tried at AFL level and failed than never known. _________________ Premiership Pies made it legendary in 2023, don’t let them forget it. #Go PIES 2024…. |

Well, this sample group goes back, what, 10 seasons?
Although some are more recent, Krueger, Kelly and Dean aren't write-offs just yet, nor are their papers stamped.
And none of them really cost us significant draft picks, or bust trades.
We have back up in McStay and Frampton; they will have time to shine. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Sure, if we are excavating the entire graveyard, lol!
But really, we need to focus on all the hit/misses under Hines' watch, which were every bit as bad as the Judkins and Sholly eras... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

According to the mate he was never dropped (unverified) but I’m told he came straight back into side after an injury _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |
