Without cheating, guess what number the current Aus vs SA test is, as in the total list of all tests played. Helpful hint: it’s between 2482 and 2492.

Ok looks like that was too hard. The answer was 2485.

An easier one; Warner scored a double century today in his 100th test. Who is the only other test batsman to achieve this feat?

Here’s one: list every Test batsman, ever, who has made at least 7,000 Test runs at an average of 60 or better? Then do the same list, just for Australia.

Correct on the first count but not sure about the second bit 😚 I sure as hell couldn’t get anywhere near this feat, or indeed do it anywhere on earth 🤔

😳 😳 😳

You sure? Or I must have read the question wrong 😑

All of the above are Aussies who scored more than 7000 runs and had an average of more than 60.

^ Career average, rather than having an average of 60 at some point along the way.

The list of every Test batsman, ever, who has made at least 7,000 Test runs at a career average of 60 or better is:

1. SPD Smith (Australia) 8,543 runs at an average of 60.58.

2. No-one else, ever.

Run outs, run outs, run outs...

According to Ch. 7, in Tests, Steve Waugh was involved in 27 run outs (i.e. batting when there was a run out). How many times was Steve Waugh run out, and how many times was his batting partner? Question

[If a hint is needed, I'll post one later.]

Guess:

Steve Waugh over 40 times
Batting partner over 60 times
