In the past there has only been a food truck open.
For a bar to be open, it would most likely have to be a gated event depending on the liquor licence.

Best to grab something on the way to the ground, there is a servo and Woolies nearby.

VFLW Week One finals preview:

https://www.afl.com.au/news/963487/preview-rebel-vflw-week-one-finals

"The Borough blew the chance for a home qualifying final by losing to Casey Demons last week but they will still be confident heading to Victoria Park after beating the Magpies by six goals at the start of the season – knowing any remaining games will be on their home patch. It has been a wonderful effort to bounce back after finishing 10th last year. The Magpies slipped to sixth last year after the disappointment of having the 2021 Grand Final abandoned when they were hot favourites to win back-to-back flags and their response to the upset loss to Carlton in Round 12 has shown their quality. Their finals experience could prove the difference in what will be another tight contest."

Fortuitous free kick just before half time - Port defender walked the ball over the goal under no pressure - and Pies 5.4.34 lead Port 1.0.6.

Good first half by the Pies, working hard around the packs and some good delivery into the forward 50.

Need to keep it up in the 2nd half as Port are a quick running side and like last week against North, the Pies are succeptable on quick transition.

Pies kept scoreless in the 3rd qtr, lucky to be still in front as Port did all the attacking that quarter.

Port running harder and getting the ball, Pies were unable to get the ball into their forward 50.

Pies 5.4.34 lead Port 3.3.21

Pies win 😄.

Pies 7.6.48 defeated Port 3.4.22

Goals: De Matteo 2, Van Der Vlies, Sargent, Bates, Ricardo, Dojiok

Top disposals: Bates 28, Tweddle-O'Donnell, Jackson 15 each

After an ordinary 3rd quarter, the Pies were able to get the ball and stop the Port run with improved tackling & pressure.

Jess Bates was great again with 28 touches, 1 goal and 14 tackles.
Dojiok worked hard to provide a target up forward and for a tall player she is good at ground level.
Although soundly beaten in the hitouts, clearances were even.

Pies still need to work on their disposal and decision making - 1 of Ports goals came from a bad kick in and there was almost another if not for the pressure of the other defenders.

Next up is the Second Semi Final against the higher ranked team from the elimination finals (Williamstown or Bombers)
Win the 2nd semi and straight through to the Grand Final, lose and play in the Preliminary final.

I was at the match.

Great first half must say was there best first quater that i can remember this season.

Pretty much set up the match.

Fell asleep in the third quarter.

Brought it home in the final quarter.

Must say the weather was windy and was blowing right towards the yarra falls end and was around a 4 goal advantage.

Very hard kicking to the Sheerin or city end.

At half time the rain set in and made it very wet and slippery.

must say this helped our lead be that a 4 goal to zero to port in quarter 3.

The weather fined up in the last quater where the pies kicked away.

Was proabably the Pies best game this season.

Had a good kicking game going and nice run off half back and nulitfyed ports forwards.

Pies play essendon at Vic park in a premlim for a place in the GF.
1 PM kick off.

Was hoping that we earnt a week off but its next weekend dont get it.

Thought port play carlton in an elim and collingwood get a week off.

Anyway we are in it.

Potential for a collingwood v carlton gf.

The winner of pies and essendon get a home gf to be played at Vic park if pies win.

Whoever does the scheduling is an idiot.

Second semi final at the same time as the AFL game.

2nd semi final:

Pies vs Bombers.
Saturday 15 July @ 1.00pm. Venue Victoria Park.

I know no wonder the crowds at the vflw are down.

Was a good turn out yesterday tho.

Was around a few hundred there at VP say around 300 say.

No bars open there was a food truck and a coffee stall were there.
