I'm generally a massive stress head, but that win was never in doubt. We were cruising. Pretty boring but good to get the win.

Ash just a marvel in the first half, with 12 disposals. Looks like he only got 3 after that. What happened? Was he moved forward for tactical reasons? Or rested? Either way, we felt his absence.

McStay improved again this week, as did Billy. The mids did ok, but tried to be too cute in the conditions. Love Murphy: smart and tough player.

Cameron is a big loss. I wonder if we play Steene out of necessity, or just sacrifice McStay and promote Reef or Ginni. I suspect Steene gets the call, to avoid mucking with our whole structure. Who cares about the ruck anyway, Nankervis did not affect clearances much at all in the last quarter.

According to Fly in his presser it's a high grade MCL for Darcy Cameron.

Should have been a 6 or 7 goal win. Still, a gutsy win with no ruckman in the last quarter.

Fantastic games by Frampton (supposedly our weak point) and 'Magic' Johnson (supposedly lacking in intensity).

Onwards and upwards.

I agree, Frampton was fantastic. A brilliant performance by him, and a credit to the amazing coaching that clearly is knitting our entire team together.
Murphy likewise had a superb game, the best I think that I have seen from him. Together with Moore they meshed to blanket the Richmond talls. Their fantastic agility at ground level was also crucial to suffocate Richmond's attack.
It was a brilliant performance by our defence, with Maynard, IQ and Noble complementing our tall defenders.

I'm glad we won, but a few worrying signs tonight. Goal accuracy needs improving. Injuries are going to cruel our season if we cant get on top of that quickly.

Yet another amazing win. Holding Richmond to 1 goal over a half of football attests to the strength of the defensive structures.
Johnson is brilliant. He has so much ability, and several times his quick thinking and athleticism just left the Richmond defence dumbfounded.
His work around the ground was also fantastic.
He has the potential to become a devastating weapon.
Our midfield is just a finely tuned feat of engineering excellence. Mitchell, Tay at ground level alternating, with JDG, Crisp rampaging through F50, and with Pendles weaving through, linking up with JoNiDaicos, it is a kaleidoscope of creative aggression and defensive energy at the same time.
The synchronisation of the entire team across the ground, getting to every contest and anticipating the next link in the chain, is just astonishing.
Loss of Darcy Cameron is a major concern, with Cox out as well.
Fly in his presser mentioned that we have a few strategies up our sleeve.
I am very worried about these personnel losses in the ruck, but I have confidence that Fly and his coaching team will find strategies to tide us through.

A little hard to believe, but that was Richmond's biggest losing margin since Round 6 last year.

Agree, we wasted too many easy opportunities.

Love our manic defensive pressure when we don't have the ball. Richmond are pretty good at flicking the ball around and finding a loose but we didn't let them breathe.
Love the way we take the game on when we take possession. We are a fast, fit, amd fierce team, and dominate the ground ball This is the best we've looked since 2011.
Final quarter we decided we wouldn't waste the petrol tickets. Fair enough. We don't want to be peaking now anyway.
Forward line entries didn't click tonight . Adams the biggest culprit, wasn't that switched on with his decision making. Too many long bombs by everyone.
Degoey was great and bog imo. Mitchell, Murphy, Johnson, Daicos bros, Pendles also good.
I'm a believer in heavily rotating our side throughout the year. These early wins, and our depth will make it easier to do that . Billy Elliott is looking a bit sore to me. I'd rest him for a game in the next couple of weeks and bring Reef in for a full game. The kid looks like taking the next step.
I'll take a win against the Tiger mongrels any day.

Murphy, what a legend. Massive game tonight. We won ugly and shoulda been 5 goals to 1 in the first.

Next few weeks are going to be searching for “us” sans a ruckman.

Well done lads coming back in that 3rd quarter. 👏👏👏

That win might not trouble the highlight reel, but it's a next-level win, I reckon. That's the sort of scenario only good sides can handle: due for a bad one or some tiredness; conditions favouring the opponent's style; wasteful early; two rucks short for a good chunk and one short all game; and the opponent getting the tactics right, playing smart and sniffing a chance.

Hence things like our sloppy ball use going forward, bombing without lowering the eyes, and silly holding-the-mans.

And yet, enough players do enough for long enough, winning enough duels, getting enough tough ball, and providing enough overlap running to maintain control. So, even when they had the momentum, we were still really hard to beat.

Jordy BOG, Murphy fantastic, Jamie the mature and responsible ice man again for the two kicks that mattered most, and Billy Frampton as cool as you'd like.

We'll get easier days than that, but at least now we know we can handle things not going to plan.

Oh, and Ash Johnson showing once more he can be anything.
