Anyone notice the common denominator on the list of highest H&A attendance records? Collingwood featuring in all of them! What would the AFL do without us???? |

Do we think that it’s disrespectful that the umpires were not there on the field when the Anzac presentation was conducted I thought I was disrespectful that they got off the ground but by the way that was the best thing they did
But they should have stayed on ground when the Anzac presentation was on |

Am I wrong to note that there were only 4 goals (2 each team) scored at the Ponsford end all day and the other 20 goals all scored at the Punt rd end?
Just doesn’t make any sense considering the fine conditions. _________________ Born, Live and Die a Magpie |

Fair point, didn't even think of that. Then again, no Captain has (rightfully ) ever acknowledged the umpires after a game. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

Probably wanted to get in their Brownlow votes without any influence from the Anzac medal voting. I’m ok with that. _________________ Born, Live and Die a Magpie |

For all the impartiality they showed they should have stayed home & watched the game on tv

If a captain mentioned the word ‘umpire’ in his speech, he’d receive a pls explain from the afl.
And I wouldn’t say ‘rightfully’. Don’t see the need to acknowledge them. Pretty sure it doesn’t happen in other sports. |

This 100%. Some of the supporters on the game day thread leave a lot to be desired. I was at the game. Essendon had hands on hips at half time. You always knew we were going to come back and over run them. |

Just on the Umps and perceived bias, our great Captain Darcy, could always front them and say, as Australian Cricket Captain Bill Woodfull said, to the umps during Body line, " there are two sides out here, ONE of them is trying to play cricket (football). " Might be worth a shot ? _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

PtM, Posting 'Game over', after the first few minutes of a game where we are behind, is NOT passion.
Calling for a player to be dropped after making a 'mistake', in the first quarter, is NOT passion.
It's NOT passion to bellow obsenities at your team - or at umpires.

This has been the case since the early VFL days but they have always treated us like shit. The worst I have ever seen was in the early 80’s when Collingwood was close to bankruptcy but the then VFL did f__k all to help us and we had to rattle SOS cans and have supporters flinging coins onto blankets carried around the boundary at Victoria Park help Collingwood survive. However had we been an interstate club in the AFL ……….………………🤬
So we are used for finance and to boost attendances at games but if we need help, don’t expect a brass razoo. Do other older Nicksters have other examples? I’m all for the younger magpie generation knowing the factual history about how the VFL/AFL have shafted us at every turn 😡 _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas.
