However, not for the first time, I was dismayed to see Moore thrown forward when the game had to be won with about 10 mins of the last quarter to be played. I heard Moore say after the game that he felt the lack of tall players in our forward line needed him there for the game to be won, but I have never seen him make a positive difference to the team when playing as a forward so I would far prefer to see him saving the game in defense and providing the drive from the half back line into attack rather than in the forward line, regardless of the state of the game.

Great post, and agree with most, but particularly this. Didn't cost us because Adelaide couldn't get the ball into their forward 50, but it easily could have. And as soon as he moves back after Sidebottom kicks the point, he's back where he needs to be and takes the match-saving mark. Enough with this gimmick, imo.

From memory, in an interview Moorey seemed to imply it was his own decision.

Hopefully Fly instructs Moore not to make that decision again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it WAS Fly’s instructions as he was having a lengthy discussion with Moore when he was on the bench. Fly is all about structure, territory, pressure and process! With Kruger going down early the Crows were killing us in the air in our forward line we needed someone to take a grab or bring it to ground at the least. Fly is always going for the win rather than try and save a game/percentage.

Either way, the fear strikes me as outdated. All concerned are smart enough to work it out.

Haven’t seen them Miyagi-san. Game was in Adelaide so not sure if they have the same production values over there.

Yep, but it should've started from the Noble goal - that was an epic monumental moment and deserved more recognition.

And I agree on the Noble goal—two goals created by a single handed effort definitely lifted the side

The tackle and goal WHE

The Noble dash and goal

I was looking at the player stats for the Adelaide Pies game was surprised how low JDG’s “Dream Team” score was… only 53, which places him down the bottom end both team’s players.

For a 24 possession (15 contested), 2 tackles, and I don’t know how many clearances.

Most Nicksters had JDG in their votes.

We talk of the last two minutes but the preceding 25 + minutes allowed us to get this close to go for broke with two minutes to go

Yep I want to watch the final quarter again in full. I miss the AFL’s free replays. Does Kayo have it?

And Kayo has it also!

I’ve watched the last quarter 3 times now trying to figure out how we pulled that off GMF!
