We seemed happy at the time with Fly's appointment.

Is Carlton's superior performances due to Voss or their list?

This is bearing in mind that our list is probably the 2nd or 3rd worst going around.

By the time we ever contend again, Fly may be replaced by someone else but he could be a good development coach.

Here we go, another 8 game Coach doubting crap post, jeezus, the Bluescum have been re building for bloody 20 yrs, 20 yrs of utter shit, they HAD to get something right, eventually. Give me Fly anyday, over Voss, plust the Scum have had a pretty easy fixture too, compared too us, i read that at seasons start, Lolyd said they got a dream draw weeks ago.

Ffs. McRae would be dominating at Carlton and Voss would be struggling at Collingwood.

There are many things I regret Collingwood having done over the years, but deciding against hiring Voss as senior coach is not one of them.

As others have said Voss has a better list to work with. They actually have key position players! As for !Macrae,it’s far too early to make a judgment on his coaching ability. He doesn’t have a lot of talent to work with at the moment.

100% agree. More the list than the coaches.

Carlton's list is more developed and settled than ours. Their list is more complete with line to line KPP's mixed with a good midfield blend of in and under and outside runners. It is easier for any coach to come in to Carlton and get that group up and running. Voss is a perfect fit for Carlton as Voss would be more of a motivator than a teacher. Carlton players just needed to be fired up and pointed in the right direction. Collingwood on the other hand has a new, young, inexperienced list lacking quality which really needs years of teaching and development. Voss would not do well with that kind of list.

At the end of the day our list is lacking depth and quality due to years of list mismanagement. We are feeling the pain now. Carlton have spent years building a list and they are just now starting to reap the rewards. It has taken them a very long time but now they have probably got the chess board correct.

I have no love for Carlton or Voss.

But blind Freddy could tell you that Carlton are streets ahead of us in rebuild terms. They have a very solid spine, they have a forward line with two gun forwards. They will probably win a flag before we do.

Does this mean we can't catch up? No, but I think fly and the current coaches are well aware we have alot of holes to fill. This can't be fixed over one draft. This will take a couple of years.

Doesn't help that the former administrators of this club happily blew the salary cap on a shot at 1 flag, rather then also having a eye to the draft and sustained success....guess that is what you get when you leave the sameguy in charge for 20+ years.

We reap, what we sow. Anyway that time is past...let us look forward.

Well don’t that beat all—a side that goes out of their way to ridicule us

1979 GF and George Harris with Malcom Frazer kicking us when we were down

They deserve none of our discussion time and as for Voss that louse would fit right into the slime

My comment “ He who laughs last lasts longest “

This question is at least 2 1/2 years early, and even then we might not have completed the rebuild.

2022 the coach has the ability to introduce a new style of game plan, on and off the field. But he is also learning what the players have to offer, and getting games into the younger players. This off season will probably see quite a few departing.

2023 the new game plan will be tweaked, the core group will still be quite young, hopefully we've had a decent draft hand. We could and probably will seemingly go backwards, but experience will be gained.

2024 The style is embedded and second nature, once again a decent draft hand has hopefully help strengthen the list, a lot of the core group will still only have 50 or so games but we should start to see glimpses of what we are capable of.

2025 By now we should be on the up free agency to fill the gaps if needed our age and experience profile should be putting us well and truly in the frame

2026 If Fly is any good and our list management is good (Wrighty please!) we will know by now

You don't have to agree but patience and determination create dynasties

What about if we keep Fly and draft Casey Voss in the MSD as another tall option. Bound to have some big bones a muscle like his old man na see could use that instead of another U18 rake or undersized tall.

Carlton has a better list. They have quality talls front and back that they drafted with early picks, and while they developed they topped up the midfield with draft picks and trades.

Parachute Curnow, McKay and Weitering into our team and we'd be in a different position.
Also, it's way to early to judge Fly. Everything he's doing seems positive at present but list inadequacies and injuries make his the more difficult task. Judge him at the end of 2023 for an initial progress score.

And of course Nick’s will be waiting in perfect patience, loving understanding and total harmony for a few years until Collingwood gets its act together again after the stuff ups………………..yeah right 😄 would love to see that 😂
