We are starting to fail going into finals. Great omen ! I predict we will go out of the finals in straight sets! We are a one trick pony side that other clubs have now worked out. We have become complacent and lazy . _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Bad night. Had to happen.
Can’t sensationalise the loss, the media will do enough of that.
We all love the Cox story and it’s not done but he is really struggling.
Naicos might need a spell. JDG has been off two games in a row now.
Sigh. I don’t think anyone thinks Collingwood are that much a head of the comp. Certainly not playing like it.
My biggest worry is that we keep getting into these situations where we have to do the special to win the match. It didn’t work in the finals last year, it won’t work again this year. We need to find a way to pull away from sides. We just can’t do it.
Pretty flat. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

the big question mark was over their forward line structure.... it looks radically different to the last few weeks when they went small with elliott out of the goal Square....
they really did miss bobby hill didnt we? no zip on the ground in the forward line... is ginnivan injured? or do they not think hes good enough anymore?
they went very tall cox/checkers/mcstay |

Bad kicking helped us win last week. Cost us the game today. Swings and roundabouts _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

So many passengers. This team looks tired to the point of being cooked. But that's what you get when you're always asking for a huge effort in the last to win games. Our goal kicking was nothing short of Little League standard tonight (Jeremy Howe excluded and perhaps he should be tried up forward).
We are a KPF short of being a real premiership threat - if only we had a Curnow. Our game style requires too much energy and we can see in recent weeks it's starting to catch up with us. Nick Daicos looks extremely tired. I haven't seen him kick so poorly as tonight. We should be looking at a game or two to rest him to freshen up for the finals.
If we were at full strength tonight then the cupboard really is barer than we thought. This was a true reality check.
Nothing worse than losing to Carlton, but to go down without a real fight is the lowest point of the year so far. I reckon several Collingwood players lost their AA places tonight. |

Bad kicking is bad football. Plenty of chances gone begging.
Still not convinced we can play Mitchell and Tay in the same line.
Nick needs a break.
Hopefully the loss we had to have.
Cox must look at some of the free’s Curnow got tonight and cry.

That's a very good idea. I was suggesting a full rest, but to use him as a sub for two of the remaining games might just help him freshen up. Clearly his past month has been poor by his standards. |

I actually see the Adelaide game and the Port game as the ‘losses’ we had to have. We pulled out miracles which so easily could have been losses, and I assumed that would kick start us to want to dominate games. Alas, perhaps this is all we are. A decent team who somehow sometimes overruns the opposition. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Carlton played one on one footy and beat us fair and square.
They gave our handball receives no space at all, it was great disciplined run with footy by the Blues.
I think we were fatigued from last week and we sprayed our shots on goal. Howe in the forward line could be a secret weapon and we wont play this fatigued again for the rest of the year.
The annoying thing is that after all the positive talk about the magnificent pies...at the end of the day we havent won anything yet....not since 2010!!! _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

Just looked off after a short break from a tough finals-like interstate game (last week felt like a prelim), and Carlton knew we’d be off tonight and planned accordingly. Our kicking accuracy was actually pretty good — but when we kicked poorly, it resulted in opposition goals. A few poor kick ins hurt us in the first half, and surprisingly it was Moore. He’d be fuming at himself right now. Shoulda played AJ or Ginni for Hill, we lacked sparked until Howe put himself forward. And what the hell has happened to Checkers recently?
I still reckon some brown paper bags were slipped under door mats or favours were called in by Carlton this week.

Really?
Who gives a fat rats clacker about AA status, they don’t even play anyone anyways.
God forbid we play for AA selection, I want Premierships, fk AA call ups.

He's a one goal a game forward in his career. I can't believe we chased him as Brisbane was more than happy to move him on. We lost out big time when we didn't have the salary cap room to make a play for Lynch or Cameron. When does Ugle-Hagan come up for a new contract? A KPF is a must if Collingwood is going anywhere. At the moment we are trying to improvise, but teams are working us out already. |

Elliot and McStay missed goals they should be kicking. 2.7 compared with 6.0 for Curnow _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Four games to go
Still two games plus percentage on top.
Still three games plus percentage clear in home final/double chance territory.
Can be forgiven for not being at their peak tonight - put it in context and take a breath - every other team is still below us.
Result of no consequence in the bigger picture. |
