On the home front. Great 4 goals today from Ash Johnson in the VFL. Sort of tells us what we already know. He should have played instead of Cox last night.
Overall, we're feeling a bit better today because we might dodge a big bullet and get the kick up the backside we needed. Loss=win. |
No I never see a loss as a win 🙄 You are trying to somehow justify the loss as the loss we needed. We did not need a loss, we needed a win. Unfortunately the planets all aligned for the scum and they were in front when the final siren sounded 😪
Also I fully agree with Piesnchess that they definitely had some easy games against bottom placed teams while we had an interstate game against number two on the ladder. That was a fact. Obviously we had the tougher lead in to the scum game compared to them but that’s the variation of the fixture we had to cop. _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. I read here that someone said that we can't play one on one, and that we played better against Port.
Well I don't know if you were at the game last night, but I was. And I do find that watching the game on tv , it never looks as bad.
However I can tell you,
it was completely error ridden. They kept trying to move the ball well, then would turn it over directly to the opposition.
eg. Pies going into attack in the third quarter after Josh kicked that goal, and Lipinski kicks directly to Blues player and off they went and scored.
Can someone explain why Jamie Elliott near the goal square, given a gift of a free, passes it off to Checkers?
As soon as he did that, I just knew he would miss. And he did. Just why???? _________________ 'MADE IT LEGENDARY' |

I hate to say it but we’re one trick pony’s right now. Naicos or bust. |
Geez. Talk about jumping off when the going gets tough. If we kick straight, we win. The question that needs to be asked is WTF is going on with viruses running rampant through the club for 4 weeks. Clearly the 4 players affected were ordinary and we missed our crumbed in Bobby Hill. Looking at Ginnivan today he’s not in the senior team any time soon. |

6. Cox looks bereft
7. Despite two misses McStay showed something

Excellent points.
Especially on Moore. Should not kick out. Earlier in the year Nick was kicking out and Quaynor.
Terrible last night. Has no depth to his kicks hence can't kick for goal either. |
Curnow got the same ride from the umps last time too. Funny how mwdia commentators turn a blind eye to him playing for frees and sucking the ump in, but Ginnivan gets decapitated and he’s called a cheat. |

Curnow got the same ride from the umps last time we played (and last year) too. He’s got a method like Selwood now and the umps are blind to it. Funny how mwdia commentators turn a blind eye to him playing for frees and sucking the ump in, but Ginnivan gets decapitated and he’s called a cheat. Other forwards and rucks would have been watching the game and asking why they never get paid those. |

That might be true but Darcy was all over him like a rash a couple of times too so its no surprise he gets paid such frees. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Today’s results (Port and Brisbane both losing) has somewhat dulled the pain of last night’s result.
We’re still 2 games clear on top _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

That’s true. And look how Port are playing against Adelaide tonight. They’re getting thrashed.I think last weeks epic game between us and Port took a lot out of both teams. |

If Caleb Poulter kicks 9 irons, then Darcy kicks 3 irons. Low and flat with no finesse. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

We’re remarkably in a better position than we were last week, given how much both teams lost by and the fact that there’s now only four rounds left for either of those teams to make up an effective three-game difference. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Not sure about that – if Melbourne can win and make a push for 3rd, it increases the chances of us getting a first-up home final against Brisbane. So that might actually be the better result for us! _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
